There are times in life when we must endure suffering due to no fault on our part – or so it seems. Life circumstances can appear terribly unjust. Naturally we question, “Why me? Am I wrong? It’s not my fault!, Why do bad things happen to good people?” Added to the many problems in everyday life, these situations can feel like the very definition of suffering. We may conclude that there is no God, question how to get inner peace, and how to live through such trying circumstances. In the book “Whatever Has Happened Is Justice”, Gnani Purush (embodiment of Self knowledge) Dadashri offers spiritual guidance on how to resolve conflict of injustice inherent in life. Dadashri provides profound insight into the law of karma, explaining who is “The Doer”, who is at fault, and what is the cause behind every instance of suffering. To attain an inner state of no worry, to begin to live in peace, or even to learn how to stay healthy amidst life challenges, this book will prove precious

Irom Sharmila has been on a fast unto death for eight years, demanding a repeal of the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act in Manipur. Ten innocent people were mowed down by security forces in Malom, a village near Imphal, in November 2000. The perpetrators were not punished, protected under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act which empowers military and para-military personnel to arrest, shoot, even kill, anyone on the grounds of mere suspicion. In response to this tragedy—one among many such atrocities—Irom Sharmila, a young Manipuri, began an indefinite hunger strike. The government arrested her and force-fed her through nasal tubes. She has been released and re-arrested innumerable times since then, but has stood by her demand, steadfastly refusing to eat until the Act is repealed. Burning Bright is a hard-hitting account of a people caught between the crossfire of militants and security forces; of a once- sovereign kingdom whose culture has been brutally violated; of the many voices of dissent— from underground groups to the Meira Paibis, a women’s movement opposed to all forms of violence whether by the state or insurgents and a moving portrait of ‘the Iron Lady of Manipur’.

Climate change is becoming top threat to biodiversity and it is the fastest-growing cause of species loss in the world. The rising sea level and increased extreme weather events of climate change---fires, floods, pestilence and drought---have already caused widespread harm to biodiversity. India has continuously demonstrated its responsibility towards acknowledging the emerging threats from climate change and implementing the climate actions on the basis of the Principle of Equity and Common but Differentiated Responsibilities for improving efficiency of the economy and its engines of growth. India has been actively promoting clean energy and clean technology as well as continuing the flagship schemes on combating climate change in both adaptation and mitigation fronts. In conformity with the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), the State of Manipur has also prepared its own Manipur State Action Plan on Climate Change (MSAPCC) in 2013 to combat climate change and revised 2nd version was prepared in 2019 to combat climate change. The Manipur Vision Document 2030 was also released in 2019 with a view to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. India has adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog instead of the half century old Economic Planning. From the North Eastern States Manipur stood at 7th in the composite SDG Index, that is, 59 as against the All-India score of 57.

Indian literature is produced in a wealth of languages but there is an asymmetry in the exposure the writing gets, which owes partly to the politics of translation into English. This book represents the first comprehensive political scrutiny of the concerns and attitudes of Indian language literature after 1947 to cover such a wide range, including voices from the cultural margins of the nation like Kashmiri and Manipuri, that of women alongside those of minority and marginalised communities. In examining the politics of the writing especially in relation to concerns like nationhood, caste, tradition and modernity, postcoloniality, gender issues and religious conflict, the book goes beyond the declared ideology of each writer to get at covert significations pointing to widely shared but often unacknowledged biases. The book is deeply analytical but lucid and jargon-free and, to those unfamiliar with the writers, it introduces a new keenness into Indian literary criticism to make its objects exciting.

This volume brings together a collection of essays analysing the current scenario in South and Southeast Asia with respect to the position of minority groups. Based on an in-depth investigation of some of the lasting minority–majority conflicts of the post-colonial period in countries that often escape comparison, the articles are a rich and critical exposition of the social, economic, cultural and political dimensions of these struggles. The central question being addressed is that of community rights in the modern nation-state and how these are being understood by the two concerned parties and, where and when, thereof, a situation of conflict arose.

The Politics Of Personal Law In South Asia written by Partha S. Ghosh and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-05-23 with Law categories.

It is a political study of the controversy surrounding the issue of the uniform civil code vis-à-vis personal laws from a South Asian perspective. At the centre of the debate is whether there should be a centralized view of the legal system in a given society or a decentralized view, both horizontally and vertically. This issue is entangled within the threads of identity politics, minority rights, women’s rights, national integration, global Islamic politics and universal human rights. Champions of each category view it through their own prisms, making the debate extremely complex, especially in politically and socially plural South Asia. So, this book attempts to harmonize the threads of the debate to provide a holistic political analysis.
