Philip Hoyt who was one of the Elite Investigators for a big conglomerate company was stranded in Clarion, Pennsylvania. And knew that after his visit home, he needed to make his way to the Fuel Depot in Florida. To investigate certain elements which not only spelled trouble, but also needed to be concerned for his own safety. From the first day, he wasn’t welcome and had one problem after another with the manager, Leo Converse. However, his Florida stay was short lived, as he received a shocking call from Dr. Harmon urging Philip to come home immediately as Jenny was suffering from colorectal cancer and must be hospitalized. After discussing it with his boss, arrangements were made so Philip could fly back to New Jersey. Upon arrival he immediately went to The Kaiser Institute, where he found his wife in a coma and couldn’t understand why. When Philip didn’t get any answers from Dr. Harmon, he called his boss and a special team of doctors were dispatched to The Kaiser Institute of Health. Jenny who was laying in a pool of blood, needed to be stabilized. She received an immediate transfusion, then was moved to The Clinic. As the months went by, a lawsuit was filed in behalf of Jenny Hoyt. A Special Prosecutor was assigned by the conglomerate corporation who had dealings throughout the United States and connection to the Legal Communities. When a key witness for the prosecution was murdered, the tactics and delays instigated by the Defense Attorneys did not bode well. The day when the verdict was to be announced, Special Prosecutor Duncan Alvarez and his assistant met with an untimely death. But a new team of prosecutors were immediately dispatched from the home office to complete the final phase of the trial. Philip who settled in Florida and after many months of investigation, and moving from one Hotel/Motel to another had enough of constantly being followed by the drivers from the Fuel Depot. He went apartment hunting and came upon Chez Cameo and knew instantly that this was his Home! When Philip knew that he had enough evidence against Leo Converse, he called his boss and a meeting was arranged. When the meeting ended, Philip and Captain Frank DeLa Russo stepped outside Cumberland’s Hotel. Looking up into the sky they marveled at the stars, and then without a sound, a sniper hit Philip. Jenny who regretted the day she parted from Philip and wished to make amends, was so shocked when Max Winthrop advised her of Philip’s accident, both immediately flew to Florida to be at his side.

This book examines the “who, what, when, where, and how” of elite-white-male dominance in U.S. and global society. In spite of their domination in the United States and globally that we document herein, elite white men have seldom been called out and analyzed as such. They have received little to no explicit attention with regard to systemic racism issues, as well as associated classism and sexism issues. Almost all public and scholarly discussions of U.S. racism fail to explicitly foreground elite white men or to focus specifically on how their interlocking racial, class, and gender statuses affect their globally powerful decisionmaking. Some of the power positions of these elite white men might seem obvious, but they are rarely analyzed for their extraordinary significance. While the principal focus of this book is on neglected research and policy questions about the elite-white-male role and dominance in the system of racial oppression in the United States and globally, because of their positioning at the top of several societal hierarchies the authors periodically address their role and dominance in other oppressive (e.g., class, gender) hierarchies.

'Entertaining and gripping . . . For those at the helm, the philanthropic plutocrats and aspiring "change agents" who believe they are helping but are actually making things worse, it's time for a reckoning with their role in this spiraling dilemma' Joseph Stiglitz, New York Times Book Review 'In Anand's thought-provoking book his fresh perspective on solving complex societal problems is admirable. I appreciate his commitment and dedication to spreading social justice' Bill Gates An insider's trenchant investigation of how the global elite's efforts to "change the world" preserve the status quo and obscure their culpability Former New York Times columnist Anand Giridharadas takes us into the inner sanctums of a new gilded age, where the rich and powerful fight for equality and justice any way they can - except ways that threaten the social order and their position atop it. We see how they rebrand themselves as saviours of the poor; how they lavishly reward "thought leaders" who redefine "change" in winner-friendly ways; and how they constantly seek to do more good, but never less harm. But why should our gravest problems be solved by the unelected upper crust instead of the public institutions it erodes by lobbying and dodging taxes? Rather than rely on scraps from the winners, Giridharadas argues that we must take on the gruelling democratic work of building more robust, egalitarian institutions. Trenchant and revelatory, Winners Take All is a call to action for elites and citizens alike.

The Ruling Elite Of Singapore written by Michael D. Barr and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-17 with Political Science categories.

Michael Barr explores the complex and covert networks of power at work in one of the world's most prosperous countries - the city-state of Singapore. He argues that the contemporary networks of power are a deliberate project initiated and managed by Lee Kuan Yew - former prime minister and Singapore's 'founding father' - designed to empower himself and his family. Barr identifies the crucial institutions of power - including the country's sovereign wealth funds, and the government-linked companies - together with five critical features that form the key to understanding the nature of the networks. He provides an assessment of possible shifts of power within the elite in the wake of Lee Kuan Yew's son, Lee Hsien Loong, assuming power, and considers the possibility of a more fundamental democratic shift in Singapore's political system.

This is the book 'they' don't want you to see. This is the information 'they' don't want you to know. Having all these lists together in the one book is certainly a boon for conspiracy researchers and armchair media-watchers. Keep it handy when you're watching TV! For the first time the names of our rulers are all brought together between two covers in Who's Who of the Elite V9 ... This is a reference work you will want to keep handy so that whenever a notable is mentioned in the news you can immediately look him up to see if he is a member of the various secretive elitist groups that feel they are qualified to run your life for you. With this book, you can better arm yourself with the knowledge that has awakened hundreds of other people wondering about the same things you are. Many books will tell you the truth, but no other book condenses it all together in one source like this one. It's a tough job to run the world, but somebody's got to do it. This could be the motto of the characters in Who's Who of the Elite V9 .... If you were an anthropologist, you might call this tribe the "Global Control Freaks" ... These Global Good Old Boys Clubs and their membership are the focus of Who's Who of the Elite V9, a researcher's guide to the global hierarchy of money and power. It's like a Social register for Power mongers and though it's just a listing of their names with their job title and affiliation, you can get a lot of insight by matching these names with the names in the news. During the past year or so, several important books have been published in the United States ... (including) Who's Who of the Elite V9 ... Individuals who have thought it out for themselves and found the establishment story wanting. Again, not academics or publishers, but individuals, quite often tired businessmen and professionals, acting alone without help or encouragement, simply because they felt it was the right thing to do." - Antony C. Sutton in Phoenix Letter. We suggest that you very carefully read this book, research our materials, check with other sources, and come to your own conclusions.

This edited volume is dedicated to the study of social, economic, and political elites in India. It's contributors address some fundamental questions regarding India's social and economic elites, the change in their composition in recent years, their relationship with each other and with the rest of the social body, and the role of caste in the configuration and reconfiguration of social and economic elites by analysing elite discourses and representations and what they reveal of their social inscription in contemporary India. The editors have sorted this book into three broad themes. The first theme concerns elite spaces which explores the uneasiness of elites to handle public and private spaces and interests. The second theme concerns the trajectories of particular elite groups such as the dominant caste called the Kammas of Andhra Pradesh, the Jats of Uttar Pradesh, and Urban elites. The third and final theme concerns elite lives and practices of diverse elite groups. This book is addressed to not only the scholar community interested in the sociology of India's elites, but to any reader interested in knowing how recent social and economic change in India affects the lives and trajectories of its elites.

Elites Non Elites And Political Realism written by John Higley and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-10-29 with Political Science categories.

This provocative and groundbreaking book challenges accepted wisdom about the role of elites in both maintaining and undermining democracy in an increasingly authoritarian world. John Higley traces patterns of elite political behavior and the political orientations of non-elite populations throughout modern history to show what is and is not possible in contemporary politics. He situates these patterns and orientations in a range of regimes, showing how they have played out in revolutions, populist nationalism, Arab Spring failures to democratize, the conflation of ultimate and instrumental values in today’s liberal democracies, and American political thinkers’ misguided assumption that non-elites are the principal determinants of politics. Critiquing the optimistic outlooks prevalent among educated Westerners, Higley considers them out of touch with reality because of spreading employment insecurity, demoralization, and millennial pursuits in their societies. Attacks by domestic and foreign terrorists, effects of climate change, mass migrations from countries outside the West, and disease pandemics exacerbate insecurity and further highlight the flaws in the belief that democracy can thrive and spread worldwide. Higley concludes that these threats to the well-being of Western societies are here to stay. They leave elites with no realistic alternative to a holding operation until at least mid-century that husbands the power and political practices of Western societies. Drawing on decades of research, Higley’s analysis is historically and comparatively informed, bold, and in some places dark—and will be sure to foster debate.
