Everyone desires to see his prayers answered. Yet not many are successful in the area of prayer. As a result, some believers have adopted attitudes, practices, and actions which they believe will make their prayers more effective. An effective prayer life is not only a confidence booster that inspires one to pray even more, but also encourages others who may not have the inspiration to pray. When people hear the testimonies of those who always labor in prayer, they are inspired and may be prompted to put more effort into seeking the face of the Lord. Just as the Moravians inspired John Wesley through their dedication to prayer and unmovable faith, so will many be inspired to fulfill their destinies through diligence in prayer when they see others succeeding. For anyone to grow in his prayer life, he should not only understand the principles of prayer but also know what hinders prayers and how to avoid them. The level of ignorance among believers about prayer is unbelievable.
