Der vorliegende Band möchte eine Diskussion darüber anregen, wie man die in kritischer Selbstreflexion ausgemachten Defizite der Deutschdidaktik verringern könnte. Besonders geeignet scheint ein Diskurs des Normbegriffs zu sein, und zwar nicht nur mit dem Ziel, den normativen Charakter der Deutschdidaktik, sondern vor allem auch die Bedeutung bedeutsamer Normen des Deutschunterrichts in den Blick zu nehmen, mit der Absicht, ihren Geltungsanspruch zu legitimieren und damit die Notwendigkeit ihrer Anwendung zu begründen. Dies geschieht zudem am Beispiel unterrichtspraktischer Anregungen zu den Normen "Didaktische Reduktion", "Kreativitäts-" und "Affektorientierung" - in Verschränkung mit theoretischen Fundierungsversuchen via Anleihen bei den Bezugswissenschaften. Mit der Artikulation des Praxisbezugs in dieser Studie ist auch die Hoffnung verknüpft, zugleich den internen Normdiskurs der Deutschdidaktik als Hochschuldisziplin anzuregen, die qua ihres Forschungsauftrags gleichsam verpflichtet ist, das Theorie-Praxis-Verhältnis zu reflektieren und zu klären, dem sie bisher nach eigenem Bekunden nur unzureichend nachgekommen sei. Als e i n Fokus dieses Klärungsbedarfs könnte die dezidierte Erörterung der Äquivalenz von Schüler- und Gegenstands-Orientierung fungieren - d.h. eines wünschbaren austarierten Verhältnisses beider didaktischer Handlungsanleitungen -, wobei die obengenannten Normen ein erhebliches Potential an Schülerorientierung enthalten. Im heutigen deutschdidaktischen Diskurs ist zwar der Geltungsanspruch der Äquivalenz - zumindest rhetorisch - weitgehend bestätigt, aber in toto nicht zureichend reflektiert und dokumentiert, wie es im Rahmen dieses Bandes die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit einigen deutschdidaktischen Studien zeigt (s. insbesondere den Beitrag zur "Didaktischen Reduktion"). Entsprechend bietet es sich an, beide didaktische Handlungsanleitungen zum Anlass zu nehmen, zunächst den 'Schülerbezug' auf seine Praxis-Implikationen sowie den 'Gegenstandsbezug' auf seine Theorie-Implikationen abzuklopfen und anschließend ihr Zusammenspiel zu prüfen. Auf diesem Weg - zumindest partiell - zu einem gemeinsamen deutschdidaktischen Denkstil zu kommen, dazu möge die vorliegende Studie anregen.

Matematico, fisico, teologo, storico, giurista, glottologo, inventore, animato dalla fede nel progresso tecnico-scientifico e nel futuro del genere umano, ha arricchito quasi ogni branca del sapere del Seicento con idee così feconde che i loro frutti sono tuttora riconoscibili nei campi di ricerca più disparati. Lo storico Michael Kempe ne traccia qui un profilo biografico e filosofico, scegliendo sette giornate emblematiche delle varie stagioni della vita e del pensiero di Leibniz. Il 29 ottobre 1675, a Parigi, quando getta le basi del calcolo infinitesimale. L'11 febbraio 1686, fra le montagne dello Harz, mentre formula per la prima volta le sue teorie sulla natura dell'universo e le cause del male. Il 13 agosto 1696, nei giardini reali di Hannover, dove discute di metafisica e giustizia divina con la principessa Sofia. Il 17 aprile 1703, alla corte di Federico I di Prussia, allorché sfiora il grande obiettivo di rendere il mondo e la conoscenza calcolabili mediante quel codice binario da lui stesso inventato e alla base poi della moderna informatica. Il 19 gennaio 1710, di ritorno a Hannover come bibliotecario ducale, durante la stesura della storia della dinastia guelfa. Il 26 agosto 1714, a Vienna, mentre si destreggia nei palazzi del potere fra progetti di natura politica, bellica, diplomatica e di tutela della salute pubblica. E infine il 2 luglio 1716, ancora a Hannover, pochi mesi prima di morire, quando s'interroga sull'origine del tempo e sul ciclo di esistenze di uno stesso individuo. Il risultato è un libro sorprendente, che ritrae un secolo ricco di idee e innovazioni scientifiche e aiuta a comprendere sia l'intimo intreccio tra la vita e la filosofia di Leibniz, sia, soprattutto, il vero significato della sua tesi più famosa, quanto spesso fraintesa, secondo cui il nostro è il «migliore dei mondi possibili».
