Bachelor Thesis from the year 2001 in the subject Theater Studies, Dance, grade: A, University of North London, 34 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: The 'Golden Twenties': it was a time of great diversity and confusions, changes and excitements, fears and joys, both in public life and in private. And eventually, a time when womankind redefined herself. The Neue Frau was born. This work examines the Myth of the Neue Frau in relationship with the metropolis Berlin and its Cabaret scene during the time of the Weimar Republic. "Berlin is a girl in a pullover, not much powder on her face, H lderlin in her pocket, thighs like those of Atlanta, an undigested education, a heart which is almost too ready to sympathise, and a breadth of view which charmes one's repressions . One walks with her among the lights and the shadows. And after an hour or so one is hand in hand...Berlin stimulates like arsenic, and then when one's nerves are all ajingle she comes with her hot milk of human kindness; and in the end, for an hour and a half, one is able, gratefully to go to sleep." Harold Nicolson, journalist, about Berlin during the 1920s

Hypnobirthing Fourth Edition written by Marie Mongan and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-08 with Health & Fitness categories.

HypnoBirthing® has gained momentum around the globe as a positive and empowering method of childbirth. In fact, more than 25,000 books were sold in 2014 through the author's website alone, and according to Nielsen BookScan, over 70,000 were sold through reporting retailers since its publication in 2005. Here's why: HypnoBirthing helps women to become empowered by developing an awareness of the instinctive birthing capability of their bodies. It greatly reduces the pain of labor and childbirth; frequently eliminates the need for drugs; reduces the need for caesarian surgery or other doctor-controlled birth interventions; and it also shortens birthing and recovery time, allowing for better and earlier bonding with the baby, which has been proven to be vital to the mother-child bond. What's more, parents report that their infants sleep better and feed more easily when they haven't experienced birth trauma. HypnoBirthing founder Marie Mongan knows from her own four births that it is not necessary for childbirth to be a terribly painful experience. In this book she shows women how the Mongan Method works and how parents they can take control of the greatest and most important event of their lives. So, why is birth such a traumatic event for so many women? And why do more than 40% of births now end in caesarian section, the highest percentage in history? The answer is simple: because our culture teaches women to fear birth as a painful and unsettling experience. Fear causes three physical reactions in the body—tightening of the muscles, reduced blood flow to the birthing muscles, and the release of certain hormones—which increase the pain and discomfort of childbirth. This is not hocus-pocus; this is science.

Quality Learning written by John Loughran and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-02 with Educational change categories.

When teachers are supported to work together in ways that allow them to deepen knowledge of their professional practice, the understandings that emerge from their conversations about quality learning and teaching demonstrate a high level of expertise. Yet such professional knowledge is often deeply embedded within each teacher's everyday teaching; the tacit knowledge that determines how and why they attend to student learning in certain ways. This book captures the professional knowledge of teachers that developed as the result of an ongoing process of school based change, where teachers began to work differently because they began to think differently about the learning that mattered for their students in their school. The explication of their knowledge of practice became possible due to the ongoing support they received from their school leadership - in most part because leadership trusted them as professionals to responsibly lead student learning. Within this culture of trust and valued collaboration, working alongside external critical friends who supported their professional learning, the teachers engaged in regular, thought provoking and interactive professional dialogue. Together they exposed and challenged each other's thinking and beliefs about learning and teaching, captured and examined each other's practice and, ultimately articulated and extended their professional knowledge. The insights about this collaborative learning process and the emergent knowledge and understandings teachers develop about the interactive relationship between learning and teaching, has much to contribute to educational discourse beyond the school setting. Some of that knowledge and the way it looks in practice is shared in this book.
