Dazu wird der Dokumentarfilm "Dancing in Jaffa" herangezogen. In diesem Film treffen viele unterschiedliche Kinder aufeinander und lernen Respekt und Toleranz. Der Lehrerberuf stellt an die Lehrperson vielfältige Anforderungen. In seinem Schulalltag hat ein Lehrer mit vielen Herausforderungen zu kämpfen. Da sich in der vergangenen Zeit das Klassenbild stark verändert, ist es wichtig, sich mit dem Thema „Interkulturelle Pädagogik“ näher zu beschäftigen, um Vorurteile und dem daraus resultierenden Rassismus gegenüber Migrationskindern entgegenzuwirken. Die Schulklassen in Deutschland sind nicht länger homogen, sie bestehen aus einer bunten, heterogenen Schülerschaft unterschiedlicher Herkunftsländer und Religionen. Für zukünftige Lehrer ist es daher zwangsläufig erforderlich, sich auf solche vielfältigen Klassen einzustellen und jedem Schüler offen und unvoreingenommen gegenüberzutreten. Ein wichtiger Aspekt ist hierbei die Vorbildfunktion des Lehrers, welcher Chancengleichheit garantieren soll. Die Globalisierung ist ein Fakt und nicht aufzuhalten. Dies macht deutlich, dass zukünftig die Anerkennung fremder Normen, Werte und Vorstellungen für unsere Gesellschaft eine noch wichtigere Schlüsselkompetenz darstellen wird. Die gemachten Erfahrungen und Nachforschungen lassen darauf schließen, dass besonders in dem Bereich der Migrationspädagogik Handlungsbedarf besteht. So zeigten zum Beispiel die Ergebnisse der Pisa Studie aus 2001 eine drastische Schlechterstellung von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund. Dies ist möglicherweise darauf zurückzuführen, dass sich innerhalb der Gesellschaft ein durch Vorurteile geprägtes Bild von Migranten manifestiert hat, welches auch zu Benachteiligung im Bildungssystem führt. Möglicherweise ist dies ein Auslöser dafür, dass Personengruppen kategorisiert und diskriminiert werden. Im Folgenden soll besonders darauf eingegangen werden, wie diese Vorurteile entstehen und wie man Vorurteile in der Schule verhindern kann. Laut Schliephorsts Ausführungen zu dem Thema basieren Vorurteile auf Stereotypen. Um die Thematik der Vorurteile näher zu analysieren, muss sich dementsprechend zunächst mit Stereotypen generell befasst werden.

Wie im aufgeführten Zitat angedeutet wird, scheint sich die Bedeutung des Vorurteils allein auf eine ausschließlich negative zu beschränken. Inwiefern dies gerechtfertigt ist, soll Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sein. So beschäftigt sich diese Darstellung mit den verschiedenen Formen der sozialen Einstellungen: dem Vorurteil, dem Stereotyp und der sozialen Diskriminierung. Anhand verschiedener Theorien soll der Frage ihrer Entstehung und ihrer Änderungsresistenz nachgegangen werden aber auch der ihrer verschiedenen Funktionen. Das Wissen um diese Phänomene menschlichen Zusammenlebens ist auch für den schulischen Kontext von großer Bedeutung. So führen Vorurteile nicht selten zu Konflikten zwischen und zu Mobbing von Schülerinnen und Schülern. Doch dürfen Lehrkräfte nicht vergessen, dass sie auch selbst in Bezug auf die Wahrnehmung ihrer SuS nicht frei von Vorurteilen sind. Daher ist es wichtig, das eigene Verhalten in dieser Hinsicht kritisch zu reflektieren. Ferner ist es notwendig, verschiedene Möglichkeiten des Intervenierens zu kennen. Daher sollen in dieser Arbeit verschiedene allgemeine Ansätze zum Abbau und zur Prävention von Vorurteilen und Stereotypen vorgestellt und diese in einem zweiten Schritt auf den schulischen Kontext angewendet werden.
