Today more than ever, the image of the Goddess of Willendorf is a relevant one. Women and girls are bombarded with Photoshopped images of an "ideal" body shape that is quite literally unattainable. Remembering Willendorf's powerful story reminds us of the beautiful abundance of the female body, with all of her hills and valleys, lush softness, and fertility. You don't want to miss this body-positive celebration of the Great Mother Goddess! Praise for My Name is Goddess of Willendorf "At last-the truth about the Goddess of Willendorf, Mother of All. No, we Her daughters are not all skinny like some male standard demands. Yes, some of us Her daughters have soft thighs. Yes, we Her daughters are of many colors and speak many languages. Our own daughters will be inspired by this beautifully illustrated book to see themselves more clearly and more gently." -Barbara Ardinger, Ph.D., Author of Goddess Meditations, Practicing the Presence of the Goddess, and Finding New Goddesses "Counters the toxic message of patriarchy...sets a new tone, a new and healthy narrative for women and girls. Liberates us all from the shackles of self doubt and shame. Promotes our own unique authenticity." -Rev. Dr. Karen Tate, Author, Activist, Radio Show Host of Voices of the Sacred Feminine "The Upper Palaeolithic Venus of Willendorf is lush and curvy, the opposite of what society believes women's shape should be: rail-thin, boyish. This gorgeously illustrated book honors this Goddess, a perfect role model for young women and girls." -Miriam Robbins Dexter, Ph.D., Author of Whence the Goddesses: a Source Book "What if the Goddess of Willendorf spoke to us? What would She want Her children, young or old, to understand? Surely She would speak with images, feelings, and heart-truths, as well as with words-as does this sublimely-illustrated book, designed to awaken an abundance of rich Goddess-power in the psyches of children and adults alike." -Annie Finch, Author of Spells: New and Selected Poems and Among the Goddesses

The Neanderthal Legacy written by Paul A. Mellars and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-28 with Social Science categories.

The Neanderthals populated western Europe from nearly 250,000 to 30,000 years ago when they disappeared from the archaeological record. In turn, populations of anatomically modern humans, Homo sapiens, came to dominate the area. Seeking to understand the nature of this replacement, which has become a hotly debated issue, Paul Mellars brings together an unprecedented amount of information on the behavior of Neanderthals. His comprehensive overview ranges from the evidence of tool manufacture and related patterns of lithic technology, through the issues of subsistence and settlement patterns, to the more controversial evidence for social organization, cognition, and intelligence. Mellars argues that previous attempts to characterize Neanderthal behavior as either "modern" or "ape-like" are both overstatements. We can better comprehend the replacement of Neanderthals, he maintains, by concentrating on the social and demographic structure of Neanderthal populations and on their specific adaptations to the harsh ecological conditions of the last glaciation. Mellars's approach to these issues is grounded firmly in his archaeological evidence. He illustrates the implications of these findings by drawing from the methods of comparative socioecology, primate studies, and Pleistocene paleoecology. The book provides a detailed review of the climatic and environmental background to Neanderthal occupation in Europe, and of the currently topical issues of the behavioral and biological transition from Neanderthal to fully "modern" populations.

The book is about human experiences and the power of the mind in unity with the divine, mind-mind. It is about the awakening of the human soul and its spiritual journey. One finds in the gospel of Mary here stated: According to the Gospel of Mary, Jesus himself articulates the essence of Nous ( Mind) "There where is the nous, lies the treasure." Then I said to him: "Lord, when someone meets you in a Moment of Vision, is it through the soul [psuche] that they see, or is it through the spirit [pneuma]?" The Teacher answered: "It is neither through the soul nor the spirit, but the nous between the two which sees the vision..." The Gospel of Mary, p. 10 Wikipedia. It is believe that the son of man is present in all human kind. One notes that mind is light as it is with The Truth. Mind= 139144 See psalm 139 and 144 KJV. Mind is 22 Twenty-Two- Eternal life- Father. Mind is 439DVM 439+ IRBG954+ENW542+DVM439= 2374, IAM GD. It is further noted and ascribed to Mary the Jewess, sister of Mosis, the Prophetess as saying when you unite the male and the female you will find ORUS 73 - IseUS- PhiIMIND. It should therefore be noted that Unity must be of the Soul, the Spirit, the Mind and the Body (42Female-Fish-Boy Self-) through which the Divinemind-Mind expresses itself.

It’s not you, it’s the food. We have entered a new age of eating. For the first time in human history, most of our calories come from an entirely novel set of substances called Ultra-Processed Food. There’s a long, formal scientific definition, but it can be boiled down to this: if it’s wrapped in plastic and has at least one ingredient that you wouldn’t find in your kitchen, it’s UPF. These products are specifically engineered to behave as addictive substances, driving excess consumption. They are now linked to the leading cause of early death globally and the number one cause of environmental destruction. Yet almost all our staple foods are ultra-processed. UPF is our food culture and for many people it is the only available and affordable food. In this book, Chris van Tulleken, father, scientist, doctor, and award-winning BBC broadcaster, marshals the latest evidence to show how governments, scientists, and doctors have allowed transnational food companies to create a pandemic of diet-related disease. The solutions don’t lie in willpower, personal responsibility, or exercise. You’ll find no diet plan in this book—but join Chris as he undertakes a powerful self-experiment that made headlines around the world: under the supervision of colleagues at University College London he spent a month eating a diet of 80 percent UPF, typical for many children and adults in the United States. While his body became the subject of scientific scrutiny, he spoke to the world’s leading experts from academia, agriculture, and—most important—the food industry itself. But more than teaching him about the experience of the food, the diet switched off Chris’s own addiction to UPF. In a fast-paced and eye-opening narrative he explores the origins, science, and economics of UPF to reveal its catastrophic impact on our bodies and the planet. And he proposes real solutions for doctors, for policy makers, and for all of us who have to eat. A book that won’t only upend the way you shop and eat, Ultra-Processed People will open your eyes to the need for action on a global scale.

What is Hunter Gatherer A traditional hunter-gatherer or forager is a human being who lives an ancestrally derived lifestyle in which the majority or all of their food is obtained through the process of foraging. This means that they gather food from local naturally occurring sources, particularly edible wild plants, but also insects, fungi, honey, bird eggs, or anything else that is safe to eat, and/or by hunting game. Almost all omnivores engage in this behavior on a regular basis. There is a contrast between the more sedentary agricultural cultures and the hunter-gatherer communities. The agricultural societies are primarily dependent on the cultivation of crops and the breeding of domesticated animals for the production of food. However, the boundaries between the two modes of living are not entirely different on their own. The Palgrave Handbook on Rethinking Colonial Commemorations explores global efforts, particularly from Indigenous and Bla(c)k communities, to dismantle colonial commemorations, monuments, and memorials. Across the world, many Indigenous and Bla(c)k communities have taken action to remove, rectify and/or re-imagine colonial commemorations. These efforts have had the support of some non-Indigenous and white community members, but very often they have faced fierce opposition. In spite of this, many have succeeded, and this work aims to acknowledge and honour these efforts. As a current and much-debated issue, this book will present fresh findings and analyses of recent and historical events, including #RhodesMustFall, Anzac Day protests, and the transferral of confederate monuments to museums. Comprising of chapters written by Indigenous, Bla(c)k and non-Indigenous authors, from a wide variety of locations, backgrounds and purposes, this topical volume is a timely and important contribution to the fields of memory studies, Indigenous Studies, and cultural heritage.
