Following on from my now sold out first book "Second Life" I decided to follow up with a chapter that was incredibly traumatic for us all. My personal journey through the UK Covid pandemic, spanning 2020 to the end of 2022, written in poetry but including chapter briefings at the beginning of each chapter (season). There is no doubt that throughout the covid pandemic, its lockdowns, scientific briefings, masks, and vaccines, left us all mentally scarred. I wrote during that time as a way of dealing with the madness and I hope it may resonate with others. This book may act as an emotional witness to just how torrid the impact of Covid 19 was and how it was dealt with by our Government.

The pandemic slowed the world down, but it didn't stop what was happening. The new world was coming. People everywhere noticed the underlying plot to move society in a different direction. The disease did not hide the objective. The Witnesses saw it all. The disease was a curse for some and a blessing for others. Powers were given to those who could use them to do good. The likelihood of citizens surviving after the pandemic will depend on the witnesses. Join them or suffer the consequences.

International Arbitration and the COVID-19 Revolution Edited by Maxi Scherer, Niuscha Bassiri & Mohamed S. Abdel Wahab The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on all major economic sectors and industries has triggered profound and systemic changes in international arbitration. Moreover, the fact that entire proceedings are now being conducted remotely constitutes so significant a deviation from the norm as to warrant the designation ‘revolution’. This timely book is the first to describe and analyse how the COVID-19 crisis has redefined arbitral practice, with critical appraisal from well-known practitioners of the pandemic’s effects on substantive and procedural aspects from the commencement of proceedings until the enforcement of the award. With practical guidance from a variety of perspectives – legal, practical, and sector-specific – on the conduct of international arbitration during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, the chapters present leading practitioners’ insights into the unprecedented and multifaceted issues that arise. They provide expert tips and challenges in such practical matters as the following: preventing and resolving disputes of particular types – construction, energy, aviation, technology, media and telecommunication, finance and insurance; arbitrator appointments; issues of planning, preparation and sample procedural orders; witness preparation and cross-examination; e-signature of arbitral awards; setting aside and enforcement proceedings; and third-party funding. Also included are an empirical survey of users’ views and an overview of how the COVID-19 revolution has affected the arbitration rules of leading arbitral seats. With this timely and practical book, arbitration practitioners and scholars will gain up-to-date knowledge of sector-specific challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and approach arbitration proceedings with an understanding of the most important legal and practical considerations during the crisis and beyond.

What is preserved inside these pages is not just a collection of poetry and art, but a document of the phenomenon that will change the lives of the people of Earth for several generations to come. COVID anthologies are sprouting up everywhere and are soon to be common, but what the international magazine MahMag has accomplished in this particular collection is an up-front and personal view of the effects of quarantine, the fear of infection, and death affecting little children, grade school children, teenagers, adults, doctors, scientists, teachers, and people of all walks of life; told by everyone, not just practiced poets and artists. Some of these people were driven to create as a result of lockdown; what once were side hobbies have become integral forms of expression that help individuals grapple with the daily grim reality they witness outside their window, in the news, in stories brought home by their parents and family members, some who are working on the front lines. Readers will notice common themes emerging worldwide: The Earth has taken time to heal herself. Salute to healthcare workers. We did not take care of our planet before, but now we can begin in a new way. A view from my window. Looking forward to hugging again. Accounts from countries we do not hear enough from are collected in these pages. Opening this tome, you will now meet each of them for yourself. Poems composed in other languages have been translated into English. There are over 120 poets and about 100 artists from countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Philippines, Nigeria, Tanzania, Cameroon, Sri Lanka and more, so many more. Every frame of art has been mounted on the page in order to maximize viewing. Turn the book to see large-scale horizontals. You will find names you recognize and those whom you would never know otherwise. These people are your neighbors of Earth sharing this event with you. Everyone was touched by this Plague of 2020.By: Youssef Aloui

Like so many colleges and universities across the country, OSU Cascades 'went remote' in March 2020 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Faculty turned on a dime, shifting their courses from face-to-face to remote over the Spring Break holiday, and students hunkered down for a long term of Zooming. In the journal entries collected here, students reveal a range of emotional responses to being a college student during COVID, and in their own voices. We witness frustration, sadness at the loss of family and friends, a newfound appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, and confusion about what would come next. Collectively, what these students have in common is their station as first-term, first-year students grappling with the uncertainty and significant disruption brought on by a global pandemic.

Jehovah S Witnesses written by George D. Chryssides and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-01-27 with Religion categories.

What would happen if I accepted an invitation to Bible Study from Jehovah's Witnesses? What would attending a Kingdom Hall meeting involve? And if I invited door-knocking Witnesses into my home? This book introduces Jehovah's Witnesses without assuming prior knowledge of the Watch Tower organization. After outlining the Society's origins and history, the book explains their key beliefs and practices by taking the reader through the process of the seeker who makes initial contact with Witnesses, and progresses to take instruction and become a baptized member. The book then explores what is involved in being a Witness – congregational life, lifestyle, rites of passage, their understanding of the Bible and prophetic expectations. It examines the various processes and consequences of leaving the organization, controversies that have arisen in the course of its history, and popular criticisms. Discussion is given to the likelihood of reforms within the organization, such as its stance on blood transfusions, the role of women and new methods of meeting and evangelizing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
