A review of the literature on historical recognition and minimization of saintly women, spiritual brokenness in the lives of women, and the value of retreat to spiritual development suggests that a retreat format might be a useful delivery method so that the lives of saintly women can inspire today's women. This paper discusses the implementation of such a retreat in a Catholic parish. Surveys administered immediately following the retreat and six weeks later explore retreat participants' areas of need, self-care in the participants, the efficacy of the retreat elements, and participants' concerns.
