The Worklife Task Force was established in March 2000 as one component of a five-point plan to address nursing issues in Manitoba. The mandate of the Task Force was to examine issues that affect nurses' working conditions and their workplace environment. This is the report of that Task Force, which solicited feedback from active practising nurses via a survey & general meetings, and also received written submissions from other stakeholders. Introductory sections outline the work of the Task Force and their research methodology. Part 3 identifies & summarizes workplace issues identified in the areas of staffing, working conditions, continuing education, community health facilities & programs, and value & recognition of nurses. Recommendations for addressing these issues are included throughout. The final part presents additional recommendations regarding local solutions to issues, implementation of the Task Force recommendations, and the provincial nursing strategy. Appendices include a profile of survey respondent characteristics and an analysis of the survey questions.

Shaping Work Life Culture In Higher Education written by Laura Koppes Bryan and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-11 with Education categories.

Shaping Work-Life Culture in Higher Education provides strategies to implement beneficial work-life policies in colleges and universities. As compared to the corporate sector, higher education institutions have been slow to implement policies aimed at fostering diversity and a healthy work-life balance, which can result in lower morale, job satisfaction, and productivity, and causes poor recruitment and retention. Based on extensive research, this book argues that an effective organizational culture is one in which managers and supervisors recognize that professional and personal lives are not mutually exclusive. With concrete guidelines, recommendations, techniques, and additional resources throughout, this book outlines best practices for creating a beneficial work-life culture on campus, and documents cases of supportive department chairs and administrators. A necessary guide for higher education leaders, this book will inform administrators about how they can foster positive work-life cultures in their departments and institutions.
