Pojęcie kultury historycznej, tak jak je tu rozumiem, jest pojęciem wewnętrznie otwartym, obejmuje wszelkie zjawiska odnoszenia się do przeszłości. Wspomniana otwartość zasadza się na tym, że nie przyjmuje się tu żadnej skończonej listy zagadnień, zjawisk, problemów, które w sposób ostateczny wyczerpywałyby treść tego terminu. Kultura, w tym i kultura historyczna, jest historyczna właśnie, a to znaczy zmienna w czasie i przestrzeni społecznej, nie da się zatem raz na zawsze orzec, na jakie nowe zjawiska trzeba będzie zwracać uwagę, jak je poznawać i jakiej aparatury pojęciowej w tym celu użyć. Prezentowany tom składa się z artykułów, które w większości były już publikowane w pracach zbiorowych lub czasopismach. Ich wydanie (z niewielkimi redakcyjnymi zmianami) w jednym tomie tworzy nową jakość, ukazuje bowiem wieloprofilowość całego kompleksu zjawisk mnemonicznych. Książka składa się z dwóch części. W części I zatytułowanej Matryce kulturowych badań nad historią, pamięcią i niepamiętaniem zamieszczam artykuły o bardziej teoretycznym charakterze. Natomiast w części II – Z warsztatu empirycznych badań socjologa pamięci – znalazły się teksty poświęcone badaniu przemian różnych aspektów kultury historycznej przy użyciu wypracowanych wcześniej narzędzi badawczych. ze Wstępu

Und ist es heuristisch produktiv, von den Postcolonial Studies entwickelte Kategorien wie Othering, Hybridität, Mimikry oder Subalternität in Anschlag zu bringen, wenn es darum geht, Prozesse kultureller Hegemonie, die das militärische Geschehen mit sich brachte, nachzuvollziehen? Den diversen Formen der literarischen Präsentation der kulturellen De- und Rehierarchisierung, die mit dem erzwungenen Bevölkerungstransfer der Jahre 1944 bis 1950 einherging, spüren die Beiträge dieser thematischen Sondernummer von Germanoslavica nach. Die Beiträgerinnen und Beiträger aus Polen, Deutschland und Österreich untersuchen dazu literarische Zeugnisse der polnischen, deutschen und tschechischen Literatur unter durchaus provokativen postkolonialen Perspektiven. Can the shifting of national boundaries, the new settlements and the attendant explusion of former populations in East-Central Europe at the end of the Second World War be described as an act of colonisation? Which (crypto-)colonial ideas are concealed behind established classifications of historical events with terms such as resettlement, expulsion and reclamation? Is it heuristically productive to use categories developed in postcolonial studies such as othering, hybridity and subalternity to understand processes of cultural hegemony? The contributions to this volume trace the diverse forms of Polish, German and Czech literary presentations of cultural de- and rehierarchisation connected with the forced transfer of populations between 1944 and 1950.
