This book is about the much produced and award winning play by the author. It is a fictitious one-woman performance about her last night alive and the memories that suddenly come streaming into her mind because the lone reporter in her dressing room that fateful night reminds her so much about her estranged only sister. This story takes on a ride through her rise to fame to her personal life failures and successes, and finally to the place of desperation her life has come to at the age of 42. Though she is depressed in her Velvet Club dressing room, she relays her biographical story with great flair and sophistication as only Dorothy Dandridge can.

One by one, they brushed the opening of the tent to the side and walked out. As each one stepped outside the tent opening, they stopped, causing the person behind them to almost stumble. All at once, the sky and the air around them burst into a rainbow of colors. Greg's heart began to race, and he spun around, saying, 'What's going on?' He stood there looking around. 'What's happening?' Nobody could answer. Nobody knew. They stood there staring at the sky and the world around them. The crystal colors fell on them like raindrops. The wind came up suddenly and blew the dust around them as they shielded their eyes and then closed them tight. The next thing they knew, when they opened them up, they were in a garden. A magic paradise only for children. Secret missions from God. A child destined to be a prophet. Seven children are called into the magical Garden of Yahweh and sent on assignments, determined by The Color of Angels. Each of their meetings end with an important mission assigned by God. Tasks may involve love, hate, battles, death, peace, war, dreams, and new life. But above all, faith in God. The Color of Angels chronicles the developing relationships of these amazing children while exploring the remarkable impact their gifts from God have on the people they touch along the way and the unlikely ways their lives become intertwined.

What kind of woman had she been? What had her relationship been with an unknown husband? Just the thought of having been married to a stranger for ten years, while still being married to Jerry, weighed heavily on her mind. Her car missing; her home usurped by a stranger; her identity stripped away; and two husbands dead turns her life upside down. When Victoria Greer arrives home, barely beating the blizzard moving in on Scranton, she expects to be enfolded into its warmth. Instead she is coldly rebuffed by an unknown butler. When she insists on admittance, she finds her home transformed by the man who now claims her estate as his own...Theodore Bailey. Victoria and Theodore attempt to answer the question: Who are Victoria Greer and Deborah McAndrews? This question isn't so easily answered, as Victoria is drawn into the murder investigation of her second husband, Tom McAndrews, a man she doesn't even remember. Uncertain of her own identity, Victoria, her life threatened by a killer, must decide who to trust and who to suspect in Yesterday's Widow.www.congerbooks.com

Yesterday’s Melodies Todays Memories is a rare collection of profiles of all important music-makers of the Hindi Film Industry between 1931 and 1970. It not only gives a biographical background of each music artiste, but it goes further to interview many of the surviving giants and completes the task by listing some of the best songs with which that person is associated. Here are singers that include the whole gamut from KL Saigal to Asha Bhosle, lyricists that include Sahir and Gulzar, music composers from Naushad to RD Burman, artistes that were part-time singers and full time actors like Ashok Kumar, melody queens like Noor Jahan and Lata Mangeshkar, gentlemen lyricists like Prem Dhawan and gentlemen singers like Manna Dey, mischief-makers like Kishore Kumar and rebels without pause like OP Nayyar and Majrooh Sultanpuri. In fact, this book is a house in which all these great talents live happily, each in a separate room, given space for self-expression. The serious research that has gone into this book is evident as you move from one chapter to another, opening layers after layers presented non-seriously. Over 100 music makers are presented this way and many more in a huge single chapter.

With the promise of a new start, will she find the happiness she's longed for? Rosie Goodwin writes a spell-binding saga in Yesterday's Shadows, a tale of bitter loss, lost love and long buried secrets. Perfect for fans of Dilly Court and Kitty Neale. Kate Cleary feels no sorrow when her brutal father dies. At last she will be free from him, even though she and Nuala, the sister who depends on her for everything, must now leave his miners cottage. Then Kate discovers they have an aunt in the Midlands whom their father had kept secret, and who now offers them a home. Despite leaving her heart in Durham with Matthew, a young artist, Kate feels loved and safe with Aunt Beth. But her peace is shattered by an astonishing revelation from Nuala, and a series of brutal attacks on the women of Nuneaton. Kate turns to a handsome widower, Martin Denby, but is his kindness too good to be true? What readers are saying about Yesterday's Shadows: 'Where to start? Rosie is what you would call a master storyteller. She draws you into her plot until you forget you are reading. You are there, in 1950's Britain and all the hardships that went with it... There is love lost and found, evil and happiness, murder, family in-fighting and intrigue by the bucketful. I for one thoroughly enjoyed my first Goodwin book. It won't be my last. Six Stars out of Five!' 'Rosie has done it again! Rosie's latest novel is just as original, fresh and fabulous as the previous ten before it... As Rosie's fans have come to expect, the characters are real and well rounded. You really feel for them and care about what happens to them... Don't be fooled though. Rosie has made sure that no matter what you think during this novel, you end up never trusting your instincts as her twists are unexpected and plentiful'

Read the Foreword Clarion book review of The Life of Stuart O. Van Slyke. In this autobiography compiled from old diaries and letters, Stuart O. Van Slyke recounts his adventures as a young man born to hardship in the early 20th century. He recalls how he overcame his background through his own grit, imagination, and the support of his family and friends. From a 21st century point of view, Stuart's unsupervised childhood seems carefree. Virtually on his own from the beginning, Stuart worked his way through college, where he was introduced to the Army through ROTC, and was the first of his family to graduate. He was called to active duty on June 30, 1941, as a second lieutenant, but his true military career started on Pearl Harbor day. This turned out to a pivotal event in the shaping of his life. One of the highlights of the book is his service in the North African Campaign and his passionate yet sensitive command of the 78th Fighter Control Squadron, and later on the staff of the Allied Air Command of Corsica. The war's ending found him in Korea in military government in 1945, where he assisted in the start of South Korea's return to the community of countries who were no longer enslaved or ruled by despots. He had a real bird's eye view of the development of the 38th Parallel dilemma that plagues us even today. At the age of 29 in 1946, he was a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves, and a civilian again, who wondered what he was now going to do.

This is an award winning play about Dorothy Dandridge. It has been produced all over the country and is considered one of the most complete rendition of the tragic star and icon. It is a fictional telling of Dorothy's last day alive. The play takes place in her backstage dressing room at the Velvet Club in Los Angeles where she comes face to face with her mortality as well as defining moments in her life and career. It is a solo piece that is a challenge for an accomplished actor. The story tells the story that just because one is considered a famous, rich, and beautiful star it doesn't always lead to a filling life.
