Modern people understand a hologram has three dimensions, is primarily non-physical; and yet, has internal structure and cohesiveness, made possible by laser tech. A hologram is the most similar invention to how our own psyche is naturally structured. Our psyche is well-described as a hologram of physical, imaginal, emotional, mental, mythological and immortal-eternal potentials. Think inter-penetrating hologram fields. Some fields are more activated than others. Each person's hologram is somewhat unique. Some fields are stuck, no longer evolving and require attention. The reality and science of holograms are shown to be technological reflections of the etheric body. While our etheric body is visible only to a few gifted clairvoyants, a hologram metaphor is widely understood.Once the etheric body-hologram connection is made, many phenomena open to view. For example, how the inner child and immune system and habit body are all functionally equal, each an overlapping function in our etheric body. A hologram is shown to be be the most useful metaphor to grasp the reality and mechanisms of the etheric body. Michael Talbot's Holographic Universe: The Revolutionary Theory of Reality (1984), raised the question, 'How do we apply the metaphor of a hologram to human psychology and self-healing?' This answer was already alive among practitioners of Applied Kinesiology and Touch for Health. Since the middle 1960s both were using muscle testing to explore, measure and assess aspects of our unconscious hologram-like fields.When NLP overlapped with Touch for Health around 1990, we gained even greater insight into how our hologram fields were organized. They began to look more and more like living holograms. Talbot's exploration ran into more difficult rhetorical terrain when he found "...evidence to suggest that our world and everything in it...are also only ghostly images, projections from a level of reality beyond our own..." Enter another reporter, Lynne McTaggart. In The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe, she articulates a New Science paradigm, how the human mind and body are not as separate from each other and the environment as Old Science imagined; but rather, all are part of a "vast energy sea, and that consciousness may be central in shaping our world." McTaggart asserted a "cobweb of energy exchange" links everything in physical Creation. These two foundational reporting efforts serve as introductions to the deeper insights gained by Rudolf Steiner and his students in the period 1920-1960. This is the topic of "etheric formative forces." Sequenced this way, the three resources make a solid 'ramp of understanding' to understand our psyche as living 3D holograms around and within our physical body. Hologram language furnishes us understanding of the etheric body, the "web that has no weaver" in acupuncture uniting each of us into individuals who can say, "I am;" as well uniting all of Creation into one planet, one solar system, one galaxy, one universe, each in turn, like nesting Russian Dolls.The "bigger me" closest to the conscious self is known by many familiar names: inner child and/or immune system. Michael Talbot's Holographic Universe: The Revolutionary Theory of Reality (1984, re-issued 2011), suggests, 'Can we use a hologram metaphor as a basis for a modern Goethean view of the human being?' Perhaps only since about 2015 has it been possible to attempt this. Freud's iceberg: Conscious, Sub- and Unconscious, is a good place to start conceiving of an organic hologram which has a physical analogue yet is not primarily physical. The classic tech explanation of a hologram is 'every node point connected to every other node point.' For a Goethean hologram of the waking human psyche, we have to extend this to include node points of different frequency, not all physical, five different frequencies of node points. To navigate waking Earth experience we have conscious:- Nodes in our meat-suit, weight, density, etc.,- Nodes in our vitality flows and sensory channels embedded in our meat body,- Nodes in our emotional body, allowing us to feel more deeply and have empathy for how others feel,- Nodes in our mental body, allowing us to sequence thoughts, learn-understand speech and written words, - Nodes in our mythological body, allowing us to admire role models, formulate goals and a future self.This outlines the range-scope of our waking psyche.Imagine each of these as a 3D hologram. Now, imagine these multiple holograms inter-penetrating the same 3D space, each on a separate, distinct frequency.This multi-hologram serves as a vehicle for a soul, who then comes to a point who can say, "I am."So the technical aspects of both holograms and fractals are useful and of interest. Yet, the greatest use of these metaphors is to aim at understanding a reality above our logical-sequential mind, a reality on the next level up from merely mental understanding. Goethe fans will know this as Ur-phenomena. Holograms and fractals are useful for approaching the Ur-human and the patterned design of the Ur-psyche. Along the way, the fractal design basis of memory storage in the human psyche is uncovered.
