Znanstvenokritična izdaja Brižinskih spomenikov je bila osnovno gradivo za mednarodni simpozij o Brižinskih spomenikih v aprilu 1994 leta. Razultati tega dela so objavljeni kot zbirka 42 monografskih obdelav posameznih problemov, ki jih je mogoče strniti v 6 tematskih sklopov: zgodovina s paleografijo, genealogija s teologijo, jezikoslovje z več podsmermi, literarna veda, recepcija oz. prevajanje, razno. Monografije so napisane v več svetovnih jezikih, opremljene s izvlečki v slovenščini in angleščini ter z daljšim povzetkom v tujem oz. slovenskem jeziku. Zbornik dokazuje, da uživajo Brižinski spomeniki izredno pozornost svetovne humanistične znanosti različnih disciplin. Argumenti, ki so doslej v več valovih v času 170-letnih raziskav skušali ugovarjati slovenskosti Brižinskih spomenikov, so izgubili strokovno težo. S tem se je utrdil tudi pomen teh besedil za slovensko nacionalno identiteto.
