Akademska kiparka Dragica Čadež v slovenski umetniški oziroma kulturni prostor zaznamuje z veliko ustvarjalno energijo. Skozi avtorsko prepoznavno likovno govorico, je ustvarila obsežni opus različnih serij, ciklov in posameznih del, tako javnih (je avtorica številnih pomembnih javnih skulptur) kot zasebnih skulptur, zato si zagotovo zasluži obsežno razstavno predstavitev. Razstava v Mestni galeriji Ljubljana je analitično sistematično ter postavitveno dinamično oblikovana, saj umetnica postavlja mnoge svoje skulpture ne samo kot samostojna dela, temveč tudi kot izrazite prostorske postavitve z močnimi geometričnimi poudarki. Razstava in obsežno urejen katalog se strokovno ter vizualno natančno in ustrezno poglobita v izbran neverjetno bogat in vsebinsko ter likovno zaokrožen opus, kar omogoča videti in začutiti kiparkino ustvarjalno energijo, kontinuiteto ustvarjanja ter pristnost oziroma iskrenost likovnega jezika. Natančen pregled in analiza vseh pomembnejših del akademske kiparke Dragice Čadež, razporejenih v kiparske cikle, dokazuje veliko pestrost avtoričinih umetnin. Pri odkrivanju sveta oblik in odnosov ter raziskovanju struktur in vizualnih možnosti si je kiparka za materialno bistvo svojega ustvarjanja izbrala predvsem les, v obdobju zadnjih dvajsetih let pa tudi glino. V lesu se počuti domače, sproščeno, obvlada ga do skrajnih meja, pozna njegovo notranje bistvo, saj ga začuti kot živo materijo. Z velikim spoštovanjem do lesa se vedno znova spušča v svet oblik in zaznav, v svet lesenega čudeža, ki nam ga tako radodarno ponuja narava. Dragica Čadež gotovo sodi med najvidnejše slovenske umetnike sploh; kot ženska kiparka si je s svojim obsežnim opusom pridobila v slovenski zgodovini in še posebno v slovenski likovni umetnosti najodličnejše mesto. Njena ustvarjalna moč je ogromna, veselje do umetniškega izražanja iskreno in sproščeno, predvsem pa neposredno in nesebično, v likovni oziroma umetnostnozgodovinski spomin zapisano kot "Zgodba o lesu in glini".

This study is an attempt to uncover the structure of three emotion concepts: anger, pride and love. The results indicate that the conceptual structure associated with these emotions consists of four parts: (1) a system of metaphors, (2) a system of metonymies, (3) a system of related concepts, and (4) a category of cognitive models, with a prototypical model in the center. This goes against an influential view of the structure of concepts in linguistics, psychology, anthropology, according to which the structure of a concept can be represented by a small number of sense components.

The six glorious scenes that make up the Triumph of the Eucharist series by Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) are highlights of the Museo Nacional del Prado’s superb collection of Flemish paintings. Completed in 1626, these brilliantly detailed sketches were painted at the behest of the Infanta Isabel Clara Eugenia in preparation for a series of monumental tapestries that are now considered among the finest made in Europe in the seventeenth century. Unfortunately, additions to the wooden supports, introduced after the paintings were created, made the panels considerably larger than Rubens intended and over time caused serious damage to the original sections. With the aid of the Getty Foundation’s Panel Paintings Initiative, the panels have been restored and returned to their original dimensions by the Prado, and the magnificent oil sketches can once again be placed on public view. This lushly illustrated and illuminating volume provides new insight into the history of the Eucharist series of paintings and tapestries and attests to Rubens’s exhilarating art. Spectacular Rubens is published on the occasion of an exhibition of the paintings, on view at the Museo Nacional del Prado from March 25 through June 29, 2014, and at the J. Paul Getty Museum from October 14, 2014, through January 4, 2015.

Are human emotions best characterized as biological, psychological, or cultural entities? Many researchers claim that emotions arise either from human biology (i.e., biological reductionism) or as products of culture (i.e., social constructionism). This book challenges this simplistic division between the body and culture by showing how human emotions are to a large extent "constructed" from individuals' embodied experiences in different cultural settings. The view proposed here demonstrates how cultural aspects of emotions, metaphorical language about the emotions, and human physiology in emotion are all part of an intergrated system and shows how this system points to the reconciliation of the seemingly contradictory views of biological reductionism and social constructionism in contemporary debates about human emotion.
