LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH CLARITY & COURAGE AS YOU GROW IN UNDERSTANDING ISRAEL, THE RETURN OF THE KING, & HIS MISSION TO SEE THE NATIONS SING. Believers from all backgrounds are beckoned to care about Israel because it's not a side topic-it's a critical aspect of the good news of the gospel. Jesus has a beautiful plan He set in motion at creation, and He's not giving up on what He wanted from the start. This book will anchor you in biblical hope, setting you on a path to be free from the fleeting cares of this age and engage wholeheartedly with the mission of God. It's a must-read for missionaries and church leaders to get a glimpse into the burning heart of God for Israel and to see why Jerusalem is epically important in Jesus' mission for the earth. Today, there circulates many waves and winds of doctrine that cloud the lens through which believers read the Bible. This book aims to cut through the noise and deliver you from the confusion, blindness, and ignorance that have crept into the body of Christ regarding God's purpose for Israel. You'll get tethered to the heartbeat of God that thunders from Genesis to Revelation, and care more deeply about Jesus' glorious future for Israel. ____ "A must read for the younger generations as well as for all." -Don Finto "This book will impart a vision in your heart and an unshakable hope." -Joel Richardson "Experience the exhilaration of living for Jesus' mission today." -Murray and Deborah Hiebert

While previous research has illuminated the origins and development of the Zion tradition, this book is the first to make a thorough study of Zion as a theological symbol within the larger Jerusalem cult tradition. Drawing primarily on the Psalms and Isaiah of Jerusalem, Ollenburger shows that Zion serves pre-eminently to symbolize the kingship of Yahweh on Zion as creator and defender of world order. As such, Zion serves also to symbolize security and refuge, particularly for the poor. This study constitutes a powerful argument against the tendency of Old Testament theologians to devalue the cosmic Zion symbolism in favour of the historical theology of the exodus, especially when assessing the contemporary import of Old Testament theology. Zion symbolism is anything but an ideological tool legitimating a self-sufficient and self-serving monarchy. Instead it serves as the basis for a radical critique of the projects and pretensions of Judah's royal court.

The prophetic books of the Old Testament offer a fascinating collection of oracles, poetic images, and theological ideas. Among the most prominent themes are those of judgment and salvation, especially concerning the fate of Zion. This place, where the people of God dwell, is alternately presented as either the object of divine wrath or the image of a salvific ideal. Representing Zion provides a thorough and critical study of the images of Zion in the entire prophetic literature of the Old Testament. The book challenges traditional interpretations of Zion and offers a fresh exploration of the literary and theological nature of the biblical writings. Zion has largely been treated by scholars as an image of the inviolable city consistently and unambiguously used by Old Testament authors. Representing Zion reveals the Zion motif to be contested, complex and profoundly theological—a reflection of the ambiguous role of YHWH as judge and saviour.

The 4,2,1 day story of this world is the best kept secret in the Bible. Not anymore. A day is for a thousand years for the Lord. The Old Testament period is four thousand years (4 days). The New Testament period of grace of Jesus is two thousand years (2 days) and Christ's rule on earth is for one thousand years (1 day). The marker on the ground is AD 28, the year Jesus died. Just before his coming, there is seven years of Great Tribulation. Even Mona Lisa will lose her smile in those terrible days. Ironically the world is getting in the groove just to do that. But for us, the Mighty God appeared in Sinai and spoke to the people. Now his son is to appear soon as the everlasting king with his saints to rule over all the Earth, from Jerusalem for thousand years. The King of Zion is coming, bringing glories of Zion to the Earth. As for me my fervent hope is that I will be found of him to be among his saints at his return. God bless you all, Amen.

What beliefs are core to the Christian faith? This book is here to help you understand the reason for your hope as a Christian so that you can see it with fresh sight and invite others into the conversation. A lot of Christians take their story—the narratives that give rise to their beliefs—for granted. They pray, go to church, perhaps even read their Bible. But they might be stuck if a stranger asked them to explain what they believe and why they believe it. Author, pastor, and theologian Mike Horton unpacks the essential and basic beliefs that all Christians share in a way that is easy to understand and applicable to our lives today. And in a way that will make you excited to be a Christian! Core Christianity covers topics like: Jesus as both fully God and fully man. The doctrine of the Trinity. The goodness of God despite a broken world. The ways God speaks. The meaning of salvation. What is the Christian calling? Includes discussion questions for individual or group use. This introduction to the basic doctrines of Christianity is perfect for those who are new to the faith, as well as those who have an interest in deepening their understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
