For me, this story of 2 Samuel like discovering that my favorite hero of days gone by was more of a scoundrel than a hero. When God called David, He was not expecting perfection, but faithfulness. The same is true for you and me as those He has called. Therefore, what this book models, is not something to be followed, but something to be avoided. I invite you to study this perplexing and sometimes disappointing book with me to learn what the Spirit of God would teach us.
