Die Strategien des Marketing wandern über, von einer markenzentrierten Strategie zu einem kundenbasierten Ansatz. Investitionen in die Kundenbeziehung erleichtern es einem Unternehmen unter anderem, durch Analysieren von Transaktionen auf unterschiedlichen Kanälen, organisatorisches Wissen über Käuferverhalten zu generieren. Um langfristig Erfolg am Markt zu haben, bedarf es eines strategischen Marketing- und Innovationsmanagements. Es müssen Fragestellungen und Prozesse erörtert werden, deren Fokus sich auf strategisches Marketing, Kundenbindungsmanagement und marktorientierte Unternehmensführung richtet. Innovationsmanagement beschäftigt sich auch mit Instrumenten des Marketingcontrollings, wie Kunden- und Markenbewertung. Eine Untersuchung der Beziehung zwischen Kundenzufriedenheit und der Zufriedenheit der Investoren kann interessante Ansätze für die Optimierung dieser Strategien hervorbringen. Der Shareholder-Value entwickelt sich zunehmend zu einem angesehenen Indikator für die Performance eines Unternehmens. Zudem wird auch Kundenzufriedenheit als Konzept der Theorie und Praxis angesehen. Viele Unternehmen entwickeln Programme zur Generierung von Kundenzufriedenheit um ihre Position im Wettbewerbsmarkt zu stärken. Produkte, Dienstleistungen und Mitarbeiter werden hinsichtlich ihrer Zufriedenstellung bewertet und gegebenfalls angepasst. Investieren in solche Programme werden die Unternehmen jedoch nur, wenn es langfristig zu einem Mehrgewinn führt. Mehrere Untersuchungen beschäftigen sich daher mit der Wechselwirkung zwischen zufriedenen Kunden und finanzieller Bewertung, wie der Kapitalrendite oder der Umsatzrendite. Jedoch gibt es nur wenige, die sich mit der Korrelation von Kundenzufriedenheit und dem Shareholder-Value auseinandersetzen. Diese Seminararbeit beschäftigt sich mit diesen Zusammenhängen, vor dem Hintergrund der Fragestellung, ob es eine Verknüpfung gibt. Zunächst soll, anhand von Definitionen und einer Erklärung der Ansätze, das theoretische Gerüst erstellt werden, um eine allgemeine Verständnis zu schaffen. Im Hauptteil werden die Zusammenhänge verschiedener Untersuchungsaspekte anhand empirischer Ergebnisse dargestellt und erläutert. Die weitergehenden Studien dienen zur Vertiefung der Thematik und werden zusammen mit den vorhergehenden Ergebnissen im Fazit diskutiert.
