Dies ergibt sich daraus, dass in Deutschland und in den meisten Ländern Europas ein Mangel an Pflegefachkräften herrscht, sodass der Wettbewerb um die knappe Ressource „Pflegepersonal“ stark ist und Marketinginstrumente gezielt eingesetzt werden müssen. Gleichzeitig ist Personalmarketing ein umfassender Ansatz, der viele Bereiche des Unternehmens berührt z.B. Finanzmanagement, Preiskalkulation, Marktanalyse, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Unternehmenskultur und/oder Führungskultur. So hängt der Erfolg der Implementierung von Marketinginstrumenten nicht zuletzt auch von der Weitsicht und Kommunikationsfähigkeit des Personalmanagements ab. Gerade im Bereich der ambulanten Pflege ist die Konkurrenz in Ballungsräumen oftmals sehr hoch. Dadurch sinkt die persönliche Gewinnmarge für den einzelnen Pflegedienst. Gleichzeitig ist die Demenz-WG ein Aspekt für eine Beseitigung des sich immer mehr zuspitzenden Pflegenotstandes, da nur wenige examinierte Pflegekräfte für die Betreuung benötigt werden. Da zudem die Demenzrate aufgrund der zunehmenden Alterung der Gesellschaft immer mehr ansteigt, ist mit einer festen Auslastung der zur Verfügung stehenden Pflegeplätze zu rechnen. Dies ermöglicht gleichzeitig den Betrieb und die Initiierung mehrerer Demenz-Wohngruppen. Mitunter bedeutet dies für den einzelnen ambulanten Pflegedienst sogar eine ökonomische Schwerpunktbildung.
