Professor Sauerl nder is the leading authority on Gothic sculpture of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. The papers collected here have been published over the last 35 years. They represent important contributions to the subject - two are published here for the first time - and reflect sensible shifts of method and approach in the study of the art of this period. Thomas Scheibitz, geb. 1968 in Radeberg, Studium an der HfBK Dresden von 1991 - 1996, Absolvent der HBK Dresden 1996. Lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Trained in metalworking and tool making, Austrian sculptor Manfred Wakolbinger turned to jewelry design in the 1970s and sculpture in the 1980s, creating large-scale sculptures for public spaces. Around this time, he also began working in photography and video with a particular interest in submarines. Even when figurative and concrete, Wakolbinger's art remains enigmatic, an expression of inner poetry. Manfred Wakolbinger: Inhale--Exhale features a selection of Wakolbinger's works in sculpture and photography since 2012, accompanied by essays and a conversation between Wakolbinger and curator Jasper Sharp.
