Dr Peter Orford and his editing team have collected articles from the next generation of Shakespeare scholars to offer a glimpse into the future of Renaissance Studies. The essays included were presented at the International British Graduate Shakespeare Conference and represent research from around the globe, either exploring new territory, or redefining the work of those before them. In his foreword, Professor Stanley Wells states that ‘The essays printed here demonstrate that the future of early modern dramatic scholarship and criticism is in good hands.” The articles included are: • “Seldom Seene: Observations from Editing The Launching of the Mary, or the Seaman’s Honest Wife” by Matteo Pangallo • “Thomas Heywood and the Construction of Taste in the Repertory of Queen Henrietta’s Men” by Eleanor Collins • “Bawdiness, Crime and Low Characters in Late Elizabethan Comedy” by Shelly Hsin-Yi Hsieh • “Print and Elizabethan Military Culture” by Dong-Ha Seo • “Actors, Audiences and Authors: The Competition for Control in Brome’s The Antipodes” by Audrey Birkett • “Shakespeare’s King Richard III: The Perverted Machiavel” by Conny Loder • “Women in the Shakespearean Audience – Recognition and Authority” by Brian Schneider • “Dis-playing History: The Case of Shakespeare’s Globe” by Kelly Jones • “‘Ever Holy and Unstained’: Illuminating the Feminist Cenci Through Mary Wollstonecraft and Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus” by Kristine Johansan • “Narcissus and Modernity in Shakespeare’s Sonnets” by Will McKenzie • “Cowboys and Romans: Cymbeline and Paradigmatic Change in the Theatre” by Miles Gregory

Building on the principles and practices presented in The Divining Mind (Richard Wright's first book on dowsing, coauthored by T. Edward Ross II), authors Richard and Pat Wright define dowsing as the "process of uncovering information through the medium of the self." The Wrights believe, as do many dowsers, that the ability to dowse is innate, but they also feel that its proper development is contingent upon the parallel unfoldment of the spiritual qualities in our nature. Through this process, the dowser becomes increasingly cognizant of the interconnectedness of all aspects of life and begins to play his or her part as an agent of healing and positive change. Includes detailed information on: • Responsibility in dowsing • Practical dowsing • Earth energies • Planetary stewardship • Healing and prayer • The supersensory worlds An indispensable guide for the advanced dowser as well as a beginner's sourcebook.

Performing Economic Thought written by Bradley Ryner and has been published by Edinburgh University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-17 with Literary Criticism categories.

This study examines the structural similarities between English mercantile treatises and drama c1600-1642. Bradley D. Ryner analyses the representational conventions of plays and mercantile treatises written between the chartering of the English East India Company in 1600 and the closing of the public playhouses at the outset of the English Civil War in 1642. He shows that playwrights' manipulation of specific elements of theatrical representation - such as metaphor, props, dramatic character, stage space, audience interaction, and genre - exacerbated the tension between the aspects of the world taken into account by a particular representation and those aspects that it neglects.
