This work uses various model frameworks to study the evolution of equilibria in an open loop evolving economy in which the model characteristics evolve without any directional restrictions except for continuity. Applying mathematical methods, it is shown that equilibria can always be adapted in a piecewise gradual, non bang-bang way.

The volume also includes the literature on the philosophical foundations and the fundamental concepts of the approach. This judicious selection of recent essays demonstrates the applicability of the fundamental principles of neo-Schumpeterian economics, namely, innovation and uncertainty. The authors demonstrate how neo-Schumpeterian economics is developing into a comprehensive economic theory encompassing industry, the public sector and financial markets. Neo-Schumpeterian economics has become a prolific field with a major orientation towards innovation-driven industrial dynamics. However, a truly comprehensive neo-Schumpeterian approach argues that innovation is also an important element in both the public and financial sectors. For example, a lack of public infrastructure or speculative bubbles in financial markets can hinder or even prevent economic development. The expert contributions to this book deal with the future orientation of the subject in terms of innovative performance in the industrial, financial and public sectors. Recent Advances in Neo-Schumpeterian Economics can be considered a first attempt to substantiate the comprehensive neo-Schumpeterian approach, of which Horst Hanusch has been a leading proponent. This unique and path-breaking book will be of great interest and value to researchers in the fields of innovation, industrial economics, financial markets and the public sector.

First published in 2003. This final volume in the VIII-volume set titled The Early Sociology of Culture, deals with human culture, and confines itself neither to contemporary life nor to Western European civilization. The author argues that, if the volume demonstrates an inadequacy of the methods used in interpreting culture and progress, the study is justified. The chapters are separated into three parts: Culture and Culture Change; Theories of Progress and The Criteria of Progress.

This study in German offers profound insights into the life and thoughts of Wang Guowei (1877-1927). Like many intellectuals who strongly perceived the necessity of reforms in the waning years of the Late Qing dynasty, i.e. after the Opium wars, Wang sought to strengthen China's position against foreign, in particular Western, powers. Contrary to earlier approaches, which either advocated a close adherence to Confucian traditions or tried to adapt only elements of Western material culture, mainly industrial and military technology, Wang Guowei aimed at reviving traditional Chinese culture by analysing its source texts using a modern scientific approach (and thereby started the discipline of guoxue [national studies]) and simultaneously adapting compatible elements of Western immaterial culture. Thus, Wang became known as an authority on Chinese paleography as well as on German philosophy, especially Kantian epistomology.

Global Value Chains and Production Networks: Case Studies of Siemens and Huawei presents theories and frameworks that facilitate the evolution of GPN studies, from macro perspectives based on territory and industry to the use of micro (firm-level) data. The book explores these theories and frameworks through detailed case studies of two major corporations, Siemens and Huawei. With the GPN/GVC structure of Chinese firms not well known outside China, despite the growing importance of Chinese firms in the global economy, this guide plays a pivotal role in facilitating the use of data that promise to unlock economic cooperation and value. Emphasizes micro-data analytical models and their methodological underpinnings Illustrates how these data illuminate the economic structures of two comparable GPNs within highly divergent institutional contexts Suggests how companies can cooperate with foreign partners to enhance their global management capacity and reshape their advantages in international competition
