Seit dem Gipfel von Lissabon im M„rz 2000 ist Bewegung in die europ„ische Berufsbildungspolitik gekommen. Europa sollte sich bis 2010 zum dynamischsten und wettbewerbsf„higsten wissensbasierten Wirtschaftsraum der Welt entwickeln. Zur Erreichung der festgesetzten Ziele existiert eine Vielzahl an europ„ischen und nationalen Maánahmen. Das lebenslange Lernen gilt dabei als Kernstrategie, um die Besch„ftigungsf„higkeit des Einzelnen und damit auch die Wettbewerbsf„higkeit Europas sicherzustellen. Zudem sollen Qualifikationen transparent und vergleichbar gemacht, und die Mobilit„t im Bildungs- und Besch„ftigungssystem gef”rdert werden. Durch die verst„rkte Zusammenarbeit der einzelnen L„nder ist die europ„ische Bildungspolitik weitaus komplexer geworden. Die EU nimmt dabei zunehmend die Rolle des Initiators und Koordinators ein. Das Verst„ndnis fr europ„ische Beschlsse und Maánahmen ist demnach die Voraussetzung dafr, nationale Entwicklungen richtig einsch„tzen und bewerten zu k”nnen. Denn aus den europ„ischen Initiativen ergeben sich auf nationalstaatlicher Ebene enorme Investitionen und ein grundlegender Reformbedarf. Die in Lissabon gesteckten Ziele waren Anlass fr zahlreiche Debatten auf europ„ischer und nationaler Ebene. Im Jahre 2010 muss man feststellen, dass sie zwar nicht erreicht wurden, aber der Grundstein fr die weitere Modernisierung gelegt ist. Die neue Strategie Europa 2020 fr Besch„ftigung und Wachstum soll daran anschlieáen. Diese Arbeit soll einen šberblick ber die europ„ischen Strategien und Instrumente fr den Bereich der beruflichen Bildung geben.
