El I Congreso Iberoamericano de Antropometría Aplicada organizado por la Red Iberoamericana de Investigadores en Antropometría Aplicada y la Universidad de Almería se celebró el 21 y 22 de octubre de 2022 en formato virtual para facilitar el acceso a los interesados en esta temática. Contamos con 91 asistentes de España, Portugal, México, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba e Italia. Con una participación de 33 comunicaciones orales, ocho de ellas fueron seleccionadas por su calidad para ser presentadas de forma síncrona, mientras que el resto se presentaron mediante la grabación de la presentación. Respecto a las 12 ponencias invitadas, se contó con conferenciantes de 10 entidades diferentes, de 7 países del entorno Iberoamericano: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, España, México y Portugal. Los principales ejes temáticos del Congreso fueron la Antropometría y su aplicación en las Ciencias del Deporte, la Nutrición, la Salud y las Ciencias Sociales, así como la técnica antropométrica.

New evidence this year corroborates the rise in world hunger observed in this report last year, sending a warning that more action is needed if we aspire to end world hunger and malnutrition in all its forms by 2030. Updated estimates show the number of people who suffer from hunger has been growing over the past three years, returning to prevailing levels from almost a decade ago. Although progress continues to be made in reducing child stunting, over 22 percent of children under five years of age are still affected. Other forms of malnutrition are also growing: adult obesity continues to increase in countries irrespective of their income levels, and many countries are coping with multiple forms of malnutrition at the same time – overweight and obesity, as well as anaemia in women, and child stunting and wasting.
