Pedagogía social, universidad y sociedad aborda un compendio de más de cuarenta aportaciones realizadas por estudiosos y profesionales de diferentes instituciones educativas, centros de investigación y universidades del ámbito iberoamericano. En ellas se pretende, desde las bases teóricas y prácticas de la educación social, debatir y dar respuesta a los problemas que atañen, en particular, a los espacios universitarios y, en general, a la sociedad contemporánea. En él se recogen trabajos en los que se realiza una labor constructiva, organizativa y, en algún caso, reivindicativa acerca del grado y el modo de cumplimiento de las funciones sociales y éticas de la universidad y de la pedagogía social en su ejercicio práctico, responsabilidad social y ética en la universidad y en la práctica profesional de la educación social.
