Psychological analysis usually sets its sights upon the patient or upon cultural phenomena such as myths, literature, or works of art. The essays in this volume, by contrast, have another addressee, another subject matter: psychology itself. Deeply informed by Jung’s insight regarding the discipline’s lack of an objective vantage point outside and beyond the psyche, their Jungian author again and again turns Jung’s contribution to psychology around upon itself in the spirit of an immanent critique. Cutting to the quick, the question is put: in its constitution as psychology is Jungian psychology up to the level of what its insight into psychology’s lack of an Archimedean point would require? Are the interpretations it gives of its various subject matters—alchemy, religion, the unconscious and the rest-matched by its interpretation of itself? Has its meeting itself in them had consequences for itself, consequences in terms of the fathoming of its own truth? Or clinging to the standpoint of empirical observer, did it ultimately demur with regards to the question of their truth and its own - this despite Jung’s having characterized his work as an opus divinum? Topics include Jung’s psychology project as a response to the condition of the world, the "smuggling" inherent in the logic of "the unconscious," the closure and setting free dialectic of alchemy and psychology, the blindness to logical form problematic, the faultiness of the opposition "Individual" and "Collective", Jung’s communion fiasco, his thinking the thought of not-thinking, the veracity of his Red Book, the disenchantment complex, and, as indicated in the title of this volume, Jung’s psychology project as a counter-speculative "flight into the unconscious."

The Signifier Pointing At The Moon written by Raul Moncayo and has been published by Karnac Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Psychology categories.
Within the context of a careful review of the psychology of religion and prior non-Lacanian literature on the subject, Raul Moncayo builds a bridge between Lacanion psychoanalysis and Zen Buddhism, that steers clear of Reducing one to the other or creating a simplistic synthesis between the two. Instead, by making a purposeful "one mistake" of "unknown knowing", this book remains consistent with the analytic unconscious and continues in the splendid tradition of Bodhidharma who did not know "Who" he was and told Emperor Wu that there was no merit in building temples for Buddhism.

Understanding the psychodynamics of groups has derived from the two separate strands of theory and practice, resulting in two separate disciplines: group psychotherapy and group dynamics. Present-day group psychotherapy derives mainly from psychoanalytic theory and Bion's early experiences with wartime groups, and has been developed from the work of clinicians who practice group psychotherapy as a form of treatment. Group dynamics theory and practice, on the other hand, have arisen largely from the work of social scientists like Kurt Lewin, have been researched in the field and in the laboratory, and have been applied to groups as arenas for leadership training and behavioral change. The Visible and Invisible Group synthesizes these psychoanalytic and group approaches to group life and offers practical guidelines to the group psychotherapist. The authors advocate the simultaneous use of two perspectives: the psychoanalytic perspective for observing the "visible" group of people and their interactions, and a General Systems "Field Theory" perspective for observing the "invisible" group-as-a-whole.

Instead, by making a purposeful "One-mistake" of "unknown knowing", this book remains consistent with the analytic unconscious and continues in the splendid tradition of Bodhidharma who did not know "Who" he was and told Emperor Wu that there was no merit in building temples for Buddhism. Both traditions converge on the teaching that "true subject is no ego", or on the realisation that a new subject requires the symbolic death or deconstruction of imaginary ego-identifications. Although Lacanian psychoanalysis is known for its focus on language and Zen is considered a form of transmission outside the scriptures, Zen is not without words while Lacanian psychoanalysis stresses the senseless letter of the Real or of a jouissance written on and with the body.

Critical Philosophy Of Race And Education written by Judith Suissa and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-21 with Education categories.
This volume by philosophers, sociologists, and historians on issues of race and racism examines central educational questions, contributing to ongoing discussions amongst educational theorists, philosophers, and practitioners. Critical Race Theory and the Critical Philosophy of Race are now well established within North American academia – yet they are only recently beginning to make inroads in UK academia. The wide-ranging discussions in this collection explore conceptual, ethical, political, and epistemological aspects of race and racism in the context of discussions of pedagogy, curriculum, and education policy, across a range of educational settings. The questions and issues addressed include: • why and how issues of race play out differently in different national and social contexts; • the impact of the legacies of empire and colonialism on philosophy and education; • the disciplinary boundaries and practices of academic philosophy; • the philosophical canon; • racial identities and their role in educational processes; • diversity and difference in educational practices and curricula; • whiteness and institutional racism; and • the pedagogical issues raised by teaching young children about race and racism. This book was originally published as a special issue of Ethics and Education.

In "The Unconscious: The Fundamentals of Human Personality, Normal and Abnormal," Morton Prince delivers a profound exploration of the unconscious mind's intricate role in shaping human behavior. Grounded in the emerging psychological theories of the early 20th century, Prince employs a systematic and analytical literary style that combines clinical case studies with theoretical discourse. This work not only delves into the distinctions between normal and abnormal manifestations of personality but also examines the implications of repressed memories and desires, presenting a comprehensive framework within which psychoanalytic theories can be understood and applied. Morton Prince, an influential figure in the fields of psychology and psychiatry, was deeply inspired by the burgeoning interest in the unconscious, notably influenced by contemporaries such as Sigmund Freud. His extensive clinical experience, coupled with his passion for scientific inquiry, impelled him to dissect the complex interplay of conscious and unconscious processes. As a pioneer of the psychodynamic perspective, Prince's insights reflect both his personal and professional commitments to unraveling the enigmas residing beneath the surface of human consciousness. Recommended for scholars and lay readers alike, this thought-provoking text invites an overarching examination of identity and psychological health. Prince'Äôs work is vital for those interested in the evolution of psychological thought and the intricate dimensions of human personality, making it a critical acquisition for any library dedicated to the human sciences.
