Dort ermordete die SS immer mehr kranke Häftlinge, um der Überfüllung der Lager Herr zu werden. Der Band dokumentiert die Verbrechen der SS, die Situation auf den Märschen und Transporten sowie die Reaktionen der Bevölkerung, die auf vielfältige Weise mit den Todesmärschen in Berührung kam.
