66 Square Feet written by Marie Viljoen and has been published by Abrams this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-09-03 with Cooking categories.

“With lush photographs and spare prose” a Brooklyn blogger shares recipes and “records her life as a gardener, a cook and an urban forager.” (The New York Times) Marie Viljoen's beautiful first book draws the reader into a world of unfolding seasons, seen from the perspective of an expert gardener, cook and photographer. Each chapter is a month, divided into three parts: New York City, the author's garden, and her kitchen, each setting the stage for a lavish seasonal menu with recipes drawn from farmers markets, wild-foraged ingredients, and produce grown on her city terrace and roof farm. Named for the size of her tiny Brooklyn terrace, and the blog it inspired, Viljoen's book is a unique perspective of the concrete jungle, where the month is known by the flowers in bloom, the vegetable in season, and the migrating birds crossing a Brooklyn sky. Set against a backdrop of growing up in South Africa and moving to the United States, meeting her French husband, and finding a culinary and emotional home in Brooklyn, Viljoen's book is a love letter to living seasonally in the most famous city on the planet. “If you don't think of this city as a living ecosystem, Marie Viljoen will change your perspective forever.” —Edible Brooklyn “Offer[s] visions of growing, cooking and sharing fresh food as central to living a good life.” —Seattle Times

Concrete has conviction, strength and directness. It has plasticity, too, which makes the possibilities for form-making almost endless. Concrete Houses explores the sculptural possibilities of concrete as the material of choice in landmark contemporary houses across Australia, Brazil, Portugal, Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands and the USA, from the hands of major international architects including Sou Fujimoto, Tom Kundig, Valerio Olgiati and Marcio Kogan, and Australians such as Peter Stutchbury, Alex Popov, Ian McDougall and Neil Durbach. Illustrated throughout with exceptional colour photography, and selected plans and drawings, Concrete Houses celebrates the incontrovertible fusion of concrete's versatility and brute force to make timeless architecture of lyric beauty.

Otto Wagner written by and has been published by Pomegranate Communications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-01-15 with categories.

By the time Viennese architect Otto Wagner (1841-1918) began publishing the drawings included in this colouring book, he had already spent a great deal of his career designing buildings in the historicist style. But his attitude was changing, and in time he wholly disregarded those early designs. The images here, presented roughly chronologically, show the shifts he made throughout his career. He published these drawings as part of Einige Skizzen, Projekte und ausgefu ̈hrte Bauwerk (Sketches, Projects and Executed Buildings), beginning in 1890 and ending with a posthumous fourth volume in 1922.Some one hundred years after Wagner's death, his mark can still be found throughout his hometown, in buildings that include the Church of St. Leopold (a.k.a. Kirche am Steinhof), the architect's two villas, and former railway buildings for the Stadtbahn. Drawings for those structures are among these images, but many of the others you will find here were never completed. Despite this, today Wagner is celebrated for his lasting contributions to the architectural spirit of Vienna.
