Awalnya aku ingin menulis buku ini sebagai hadiah pernikahan yang akan kuberikan kepadanya tepat pada hari jadian kami yang genap berumur dua tahun. Sudah aku niatkan dari awal saat berkomitmen dengannya, bahwa aku ingin menulis buku tentang perjalanan cinta kami. Menurutku, tidak ada yang lebih berharga selain kenangan dari tiap kejadian yang sudah kami lalui bersama, mulai dari perkenalan hingga akhirnya menjadi sepasang cinta yang berdiri di atas pelaminan. Kelak, ketika kami sama-sama menua dan ingatan juga sudah mulai melupa, akan ada sejarah yang bisa dibaca dan dikenang kembali. Lalu kami berdua akan tertawa bersama saat membaca kisah zaman muda dulu. Hehe. Dan jika salah satu di antara kami telah pergi dicuri waktu, ada pertinggal yang bisa dijadikan sebagai pengobat rindu melalui tulisan-tulisan di dalam buku ini. Begitulah. Namun, semua tak berjalan sesuai rencana. Pada pertengahan jalan hubungan kami kandas dan membuat proses penulisan buku ini tidak berjalan sesuai rencana semula. Kondisiku yang tidak baik setelah kehilangannya membuatku menjadi malas untuk menulis lagi. Ada banyak hal yang tidak bisa kujelaskan kepada orang-orang di sekitarku. Kesedihan ternyata bisa datang kapan saja dan tak terduga-duga.
