Semantics Of Probabilistic Processes written by Yuxin Deng and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-06 with Computers categories.

This book discusses the semantic foundations of concurrent systems with nondeterministic and probabilistic behaviour. Particular attention is given to clarifying the relationship between testing and simulation semantics and characterising bisimulations from metric, logical, and algorithmic perspectives. Besides presenting recent research outcomes in probabilistic concurrency theory, the book exemplifies the use of many mathematical techniques to solve problems in computer science, which is intended to be accessible to postgraduate students in Computer Science and Mathematics. It can also be used by researchers and practitioners either for advanced study or for technical reference.

For the past 25 years the CADE conference has been the major forum for the presentation of new results in automated deduction. This volume contains the papers and system descriptions selected for the 17th International Conference on Automated Deduction, CADE-17, held June 17-20, 2000,at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA). Fifty-three research papers and twenty system descriptions were submitted by researchers from ?fteen countries. Each submission was reviewed by at least three reviewers. Twenty-four research papers and ?fteen system descriptions were accepted. The accepted papers cover a variety of topics related to t- orem proving and its applications such as proof carrying code, cryptographic protocol veri?cation, model checking, cooperating decision procedures, program veri?cation, and resolution theorem proving. The program also included three invited lectures: “High-level veri?cation using theorem proving and formalized mathematics” by John Harrison, “Sc- able Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Systems” by Henry Kautz, and “Connecting Bits with Floating-Point Numbers: Model Checking and Theorem Proving in Practice” by Carl Seger. Abstracts or full papers of these talks are included in this volume. In addition to the accepted papers, system descriptions, andinvited talks, this volumecontains one page summaries of four tutorials and ?ve workshops held in conjunction with CADE-17.

Labelled Markov Processes written by Prakash Panangaden and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-06-23 with Computers categories.

Labelled Markov processes are probabilistic versions of labelled transition systems with continuous state spaces. The book covers basic probability and measure theory on continuous state spaces and then develops the theory of LMPs.The main topics covered are bisimulation, the logical characterization of bisimulation, metrics and approximation theory. An unusual feature of the book is the connection made with categorical and domain theoretic concepts./a

Communicating Embedded Systems written by Claude Jard and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-02-04 with Computers categories.

The increased complexity of embedded systems coupled with quick design cycles to accommodate faster time-to-market requires increased system design productivity that involves both model-based design and tool-supported methodologies. Formal methods are mathematically-based techniques and provide a clean framework in which to express requirements and models of the systems, taking into account discrete, stochastic and continuous (timed or hybrid) parameters with increasingly efficient tools. This book deals with these formal methods applied to communicating embedded systems by presenting the related industrial challenges and the issues of modeling, model-checking, diagnosis and control synthesis, and by describing the main associated automated tools.

Formal Methods For Industrial Critical Systems written by Stefania Gnesi and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-27 with Computers categories.

Today, formal methods are widely recognized as an essential step in the design process of industrial safety-critical systems. In its more general definition, the term formal methods encompasses all notations having a precise mathematical semantics, together with their associated analysis methods, that allow description and reasoning about the behavior of a system in a formal manner. Growing out of more than a decade of award-winning collaborative work within the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics, Formal Methods for Industrial Critical Systems: A Survey of Applications presents a number of mainstream formal methods currently used for designing industrial critical systems, with a focus on model checking. The purpose of the book is threefold: to reduce the effort required to learn formal methods, which has been a major drawback for their industrial dissemination; to help designers to adopt the formal methods which are most appropriate for their systems; and to offer a panel of state-of-the-art techniques and tools for analyzing critical systems.

The Inverse Method written by Etienne André and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-02-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book introduces state-of-the-art verification techniques for real-time embedded systems, based on the inverse method for parametric timed automata. It reviews popular formalisms for the specification and verification of timed concurrent systems and, in particular, timed automata as well as several extensions such as timed automata equipped with stopwatches, linear hybrid automata and affine hybrid automata. The inverse method is introduced, and its benefits for guaranteeing robustness in real-time systems are shown. Then, it is shown how an iteration of the inverse method can solve the good parameters problem for parametric timed automata by computing a behavioral cartography of the system. Different extensions are proposed particularly for hybrid systems and applications to scheduling problems using timed automata with stopwatches. Various examples, both from the literature and industry, illustrate the techniques throughout the book. Various parametric verifications are performed, in particular of abstractions of a memory circuit sold by the chipset manufacturer ST-Microelectronics, as well as of the prospective flight control system of the next generation of spacecraft designed by ASTRIUM Space Transportation. Contents: 1. Parametric Timed Automata. 2. The Inverse Method for Parametric Timed Automata. 3. The Inverse Method in Practice: Application to Case Studies. 4. Behavioral Cartography of Timed Automata. 5. Parameter Synthesis for Hybrid Automata. 6. Application to the Robustness Analysis of Scheduling Problems. 7. Conclusion and Perspectives. About the Authors Étienne André is Associate Professor in the Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris Nord, in the University of Paris 13 (Sorbonne Paris Cité) in France. His current research interests focus on the verification of real-time systems. Romain Soulat is currently completing his PhD at the LSV laboratory at ENS-Cachan in France, focusing on the modeling and verification of hybrid temporal systems.
