Katalog einer Ausstellung in der Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Hamburg Carl von Ossietzky "Malerei und Plastik in Deutschland 1936. Die Geschichte einer verbotenen Ausstellung." Es geht um die Jahresausstellung 1936 des Deutschen Künstlerbundes, die im Olympiajahr vom Hamburger Kunstverein ausgerichtet und vom Hamburger Maler Heinrich Stegemann organisiert wurde. Es war eine repräsentative Ausstellung der Moderne mit 249 Werken von 175 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern. Die Ausstellung wurde nach 11 Tagen von den Nazis geschlossen, das Haus den Kunstvereins enteignet, die Verantwortlichen wurden abgesetzt, der Deutsche Künstlerbund wurde aufgelöst und der Ausstellungsleiter Heinrich Stegemann mit einem Berufsverbotsverfahren überzogen. Der Vorgang gilt als tiefster Einschnitt in der Hamburger Kunstgeschichte.
