Applications Of Intelligent Systems written by N. Petkov and has been published by IOS Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-12-21 with Computers categories.

The deployment of intelligent systems to tackle complex processes is now commonplace in many fields from medicine and agriculture to industry and tourism. This book presents scientific contributions from the 1st International Conference on Applications of Intelligent Systems (APPIS 2018) held at the Museo Elder in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, from 10 to 12 January 2018. The aim of APPIS 2018 was to bring together scientists working on the development of intelligent computer systems and methods for machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, and related techniques with an emphasis on their application to various problems. The 34 peer-reviewed papers included here cover an extraordinarily wide variety of topics – everything from semi-supervised learning to matching electro-chemical sensor information with human odor perception – but what they all have in common is the design and application of intelligent systems and their role in tackling diverse and complex challenges. The book will be of particular interest to all those involved in the development and application of intelligent systems.

The Social Psychology Of Eating written by Patrizia Catellani and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-06-29 with Psychology categories.

Our eating decisions are guided by several psychological dimensions: cognitive, emotional, value-based, social, and behavioural. The social psychology of eating helps us understand these dimensions and how we can promote healthy and sustainable eating to improve people's wellbeing. What is most important in deciding what we want to eat? What drives people to go vegan? Do we tend to eat more when we are nervous? Does it change our behavior when we sit at the table with others? Why do we put off starting the diet until the next week? How does online and offline communication influence our eating behaviour? Is it possible to help people change their eating habits thanks to artificial intelligence? These and other questions are answered in this book, with up-to-date literature references and pointers to the most promising developments in the field. An essential text for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers in the fields of psychology and nutrition.

New Trends In E Service And Smart Computing written by Tokuro Matsuo and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-02-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book examines theoretical and practical aspects of emerging technologies in e-service and artificial intelligence from an academic and professional viewpoint. To do so, it focuses on three major areas: the development of novel user support systems; development of smart mobility; and emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence (AI). With regard to the development of novel user support systems, Chapter 1 introduces alternative ingredients recommendation using data on co-occurrence relation and ingredients categories to support cooking, while Chapter 2 introduces a study on location information inference using data acquired by low-energy Bluetooth devices. Turning to the development of smart mobility, Chapter 3 highlights a sustainable information infrastructure project for smart mobility systems. In addition, Chapter 4 presents a lifecycle-oriented development process to improve requirements and design in terms of uncertainties to provide sustainable information architectures for smart mobility. In the book’s third and last part – emerging technologies in AI – Chapter 5 presents a summarization task for sports events on Twitter, focusing on an abstractive approach based on sub-events during the sports event. Chapter 6 discusses the generation of headlines using a recurrent neural network based on a machine translation approach. Lastly, Chapter 7 explores customer behavior analysis using enthusiasm analysis, an approach that estimates customers’ activation levels. The book gathers a selection of the highest-quality papers presented at the 4th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics, held on July 12–16, 2015 in Okayama, Japan. Given the breadth of its coverage, it offers a valuable resource for practitioners, researchers and students alike.
