International etabliert sich die Hochspannungsgleichstromübertragung (HGÜ) für Spannungen bis 1,2 MV aufgrund von zunehmenden Übertragungsstrecken immer mehr zum Stand der Technik. National rückt die HGÜ aufgrund des politisch motivierten Ausbaus der erneuerbaren Energien und des damit verbundenen Aus- und Umbaus des Höchstspannungs-Übertragungsnetzes für Spannungen bis 525 kV in den Fokus. Dabei sind neue Übertragungsstrecken vorzugsweise als Trassen aus polymeren Kabeln zu realisieren. In Isolierstoffen von HGÜ-Kabelsystemen stellt sich im stationären Zustand ein elektrisches Strömungsfeld ein, das von der vorherrschenden elektrischen Leitfähigkeit der jeweiligen Isolierstoffe beeinflusst wird. Diese elektrische Leitfähigkeit wird durch die temperatur- und feldstärkeabhängige Entwicklung von Raumladungen in der Isolation bestimmt. Diese Effekte führen zu einer Veränderung und Umkehr der elektrischen Feldstärkeverteilung im Isolationsmaterial. Deshalb müssen bei der Auslegung von HGÜ-Komponenten hinsichtlich der Betriebsspannung neben den Permittivitäten auch die elektrischen Leitfähigkeiten und die Neigungen zur Akkumulation von Raumladungen der einzelnen Isolierstoffe betrachtet werden. Das Augenmerk der vorliegenden Arbeit richtet sich auf Compounds mit vernetztem Polyethylen (LDPE) als Basispolymer und unterschiedlichen Füllstoffanteilen von hexagonalem Bornitrid (h-BN) bis maximal 20 Vol.-%. Es zeigt sich, dass durch eine höhere Wärmeleitfähigkeit bis 1 W/mK des Compounds eine verbesserte Abfuhr der Stromwärmeverluste des Innenleiters ermöglicht wird. Weitere Messungen bis 80 °C belegen, dass die elektrische Leitfähigkeit der Compounds stets kleiner ist als des Basispolymers LDPE. Zudem ist eine deutliche Vergrößerung der elektrischen Durchschlagsspannung der Compouds gegenüber LDPE gemessen wurden. Eine signifikante Akkumulation von Raumladungen ist weder für LDPE noch für die Compounds bei einer mittleren elektrischen Betriebsfeldstärke von 15 kV/mm mittels PEA-Verfahren (gepulstes elektroakustisches Verfahren) nachzuweisen. Anhand der gemessenen thermoanalytischen und dielektrischen Parameter in Abhängigkeit der Temperatur und elektrischen Feldstärke ist die grundsätzliche Eignung dieser Compounds als ein möglicher optimierter HGÜ-Isolierstoff festgestellt wurden. Jedoch wurden keine Alterungs- und Langzeiteffekte berücksichtigt.
