50 Ways To Win At Chess written by Steve Giddins and has been published by Gambit Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Games & Activities categories.

In a sequel to the hugely successful 50 Essential Chess Lessons, Steve Giddins now presents 50 games that each illustrate an important winning method. This engaging and highly readable book is a painless way to build your personal arsenal of techniques and ideas. The games are mostly from the modern era, but with a few classic examples chosen to show key themes in as clear a way as possible. In these cases, the defender may have never seen the critical idea before, and fails to react appropriately. We then move on to more complex examples where the attacker needs to overcome stiffer resistance. Giddins repeatedly shows that despite the tactical complexity of many of these battles, the fundamental concepts can be grasped by all chess-players, and will help them navigate through apparently intimidating terrain. The many topics include: * Attacking weak colour complexes * The principle of two weaknesses * Choosing the right exchanges * Devastating opening preparation * Manoeuvring in 'restraint' structures * Handling must-win situations

Of Kings And Pawns written by Eric Schiller and has been published by Universal-Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Games & Activities categories.

In chess games the result is often determined in the endgame, where most of the armies have been removed from the board. When it comes down to just kings and pawns, absolute precision is necessary, and a minor slip can toss away all the hard-earned advantages built up during the game. Endgames are very complex strategically. It is necessary to have in mind a specific target position so that a pawn can be marched to the far side of the board and be promoted into a queen or other powerful piece. The unique format of this book provides the reader with the desired target at the start of the discussion, so that the main task is to find a path from the initial position to one which is clearly winning (or drawing), as required. The 26 exercises are positions that are not only important for developing endgame technique, but are also of high artistic merit, so that the study of the positions will be entertaining. Chess master Eric Schiller, internationally recognized trainer and author of many books on chess, provides detailed commentary for each position, pointing out important alternative strategies and all of the tactical nuances. After working through the material in this book, the reader will be ready to cope with even the trickiest king and pawn endgames, and as a consequence will have better results in both competitive and casual play.

If you like short, fast-paced chess gambit wins for White, this may be the book for you. These games involve normal online chess players who are not masters. I, Tim Sawyer, played chess for 50 years and wrote 100 chess books. This Blackmar-Diemer Gambit book has 50 games my son Travis Sawyer played in late 2022. He found lots of mates. This book is purely for entertainment value. All the players in this book were rated below 1600 at that time. Games are mostly blitz with some bullet and rapid games included. Travis told me that he had at least 50 chess games with the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit that he won in 20 moves or less. He was right! I selected 50 games he played in late 2022. Six games are slightly longer than 20 moves. I enjoy them. I didn't need to check out more of his earlier games. My analysis is objective without being overly critical. I refer to the player with White as "Travis," so I don't confuse him with games in many other books where I play as "Sawyer." All players blunder in blitz. Opening theory and endgame knowledge help your play, but tactics win most games. If you want better games, see my previous Chess Strategy Blackmar-Diemer Gambit books or my older BDG books. A chess player friend of mine told me that his intermediate opponents never play the main lines of popular openings. That gave me an idea for this series of books on "How to Beat Intermediate Chess Players" in a variety of openings. I assume that you can read algebraic chess notation. The diagrams have White at the bottom of the board. Thank you for reading my books. I hope you enjoy this one!
