I've met lots of folks who say, "Someday, I am going to read through the Bible." In fact, I suspect that is the goal of most Christians. And there are many who actually get started, but somewhere along the way, maybe at the "begats . . ." in Genesis, they get bogged down, and give up. For one thing, it starts at a different place than most other reading plans. "Thru the Bible in 52 Weeks" begins with the joyful book of Philippians and allows you to 'bounce' back-and-forth on an exciting journey between New and Old Testaments. It is not a straight path through the Bible as many plans are, but is a scenic tour that takes you month-by-month and week-by-week from history, to poetry, to prophecy, to a variegated view of the Bible."Thru the Bible in 52 Weeks" will systematically take you through the comfort and inspiration of the Psalms four times during the year. Every day you will reflect upon the words of poets like David who passed through the worst and best of life. And you will benefit immensely from the practical wisdom of King Solomon. For example, you might want to read the Psalms and Proverbs early in the day and the suggested reading section from another Book of the Bible before turning in at night. However you choose to use this plan, my hope and prayer is that this is the time you'll not just get started, but that you will actually complete your plan to read through the Bible. And once you have done it, you'll want to do it again.
