Without a doubt the best book I have read on goal setting and dreams. Michael Goulden and WinAmerica have done something that countless other positive thinking, goal designing and self-help books have failed to do for me. That is to get me down right excited about following through on a plan to reach my dreams. I cant say enough about this book. If you want to pull away from the competition you need to develop a plan. This program will walk you through everything you need to bring your dreams clearly into focus. Read it over and over again and your life will be changed. I know mine has. This book should be taught to anyone who has a dream. So that includes everyone. There are so many important lessons taught from a new angle that it will make you smile with its simplicity. Not a passive read but something you take with you for life because it will change it. Do yourself a favor and pack this book on every bus trip you ever take. Professional athletes didnt get to where they are by accident. They made a plan of action, developed tremendous motivation for the back breaking hard work required, and yes failed many times along the way. Use this book as a guide on your journey and be ten times closer to your dream than your competition. This book is the best I have seen and the only method I will use going forward for life changing plans. Players dedicate their lives to the goal of playing professional hockey and teams demand total commitment from their players, giving them complete control over almost all aspects of the players' lives. With the enormous labour turnover in the AHL and the surplus labour pool, players are extremely vulnerable: they must perform well or be replaced by the scores of other men willing to do the same job. With limited education and limited life skills, players seldom meet people who are not connected to the game and, when they do, they do so with trepidation. The constructed universe of the game consumes the players so that, in spite of any wealth they may accumulate, they often know nothing other than the game and have invested everything in an occupation where their services quickly become obsolete. Far from the sensational memoirs of those few players who make it to the top, Robidoux's Men at Play offers a bracing inside look at the dynamics of the fastest game on earth.

The History Of Professional Hockey In Victoria written by Helen Edwards and has been published by FriesenPress this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-06-04 with History categories.

The History of Profesional Hockey in Victoria is an in-depth examination of professional hockey in Victoria. It includes details on the different leagues, statistics on every game played by a Victoria team, and information on every player to dress for at least one regular season game. From the Patrick family to RG Properties, this book covers the ownership of teams and records the highlights and low points of every team. It was produced as a "thank-you" to the players who entertained Victorians over a century, giving us reason to cheer on many occasions and to be disappointed as well. Victoria enjoyed three championships, including the Stanley Cup victory in 1925. Little did the Cougars know that they would go down in history as the last non-NHL team to win the Stanley Cup, and the last non-NHL team to play in a Stanley Cup series. They were also the last West Coast team to win the Stanley Cup until Anaheim did it in 2007. The 1950-51 Cougars, led by their "kid line" of Andy Hebenton, Bob Frampton, and Reg Abbott, won the league title while the Maple Leafs (with Hebenton in the lineup) won the Lester Patrick Cup in the1965-1966 season. Included in the narrative is the story of the construction and operation of the different venues in which games were played. The politics behind arena construction are examined as well, with editorial cartoons to make the reader laugh about the folly of some ideas. Biographies of selected players tell the story of individuals and how they came to play hockey in Victoria. Learn from behind-the-scenes stories told by the players themselves. Lavishly illustrated, this is a book for those who love hockey history and its connection to Victoria, BC.

Let Them Lead written by John U. Bacon and has been published by HarperCollins this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-07 with Business & Economics categories.

An uplifting leadership book about a coach who helped transform the nation’s worst high school hockey team into one of the best. Bacon’s strategy is straightforward: set high expectations, make them accountable to each other, and inspire them all to lead their team. When John U. Bacon played for the Ann Arbor Huron High School River Rats, he never scored a goal. Yet somehow, years later he found himself leading his alma mater’s downtrodden program. How bad? The team hadn’t won a game in over a year, making them the nation’s worst squad—a fact they celebrated. With almost everyone expecting more failure, Bacon made it special to play for Huron by making it hard, which inspired the players to excel. Then he defied conventional wisdom again by putting the players in charge of team discipline, goal-setting, and even decision-making – and it worked. In just three seasons the River Rats bypassed 95-percent of the nation’s teams. A true story filled with unforgettable characters, stories, and lessons that apply to organizations everywhere, Let Them Lead includes the leader’s mistakes and the reactions of the players, who have since achieved great success as leaders themselves. Let Them Lead is a fast-paced, feel-good book that leaders of all kinds can embrace to motivate their teams to work harder, work together, and take responsibility for their own success.
