Divided Politics Divided Nation written by Darrell M. West and has been published by Brookings Institution Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-03-26 with Political Science categories.

Why are Americans so angry with each other? The United States is caught in a partisan hyperconflict that divides politicians, communities—and even families. Politicians from the president to state and local office-holders play to strongly-held beliefs and sometimes even pour fuel on the resulting inferno. This polarization has become so intense that many people no longer trust anyone from a differing perspective. Drawing on his personal story of growing up as a fundamentalist Christian on a dairy farm in rural Ohio, then as an academic in the heart of the liberal East Coast establishment, Darrell West analyzes the economic, cultural, and political aspects of polarization. He takes advantage of his experiences inside both conservative and liberal camps to explain the views of each side and offer insights into why each is angry with the other. West argues that societal tensions have metastasized into a dangerous tribalism that seriously threatens U.S. democracy. Unless people can bridge these divisions and forge a new path forward, it will be impossible to work together, maintain a functioning democracy, and solve the country's pressing policy problems.

A country divided by the American Civil War is unaware that now an even greater danger exists: a country divided into thirds. The most powerful nations on earth -- England, France, and Spain -- plan a simultaneous attack on the United States from all four directions to reclaim the land in the New World that was once theirs. On a cold January night in 1865, conspirators meet in a London pub to plot the fate of America. Three of them will be instrumental in carrying out the ambitious plan. British Major Josiah Sterling, as a special observer of the War, has access to top American military and government officials. Jeanetta Boudreaux, the widow of a fallen Confederate, has traveled from New Orleans to help her beloved South. Juan Carlos Ramirez holds a banking position of authority in California and the American West. As the Divine Plan unfolds, love sprouts between Josiah and Jeanetta, fully blooming as the fateful day of invasion draws near. But love can be distracting. Will the conspirators successfully derail America's chance at reunifying the Union, or will personal emotions put them all at risk? This historical novel is so intertwined with such a myriad of facts that one may wonder: is it indeed fiction -- or was it true?

...It's November 9, 2016 and America is A Nation Divided amongst "We the People." We are called to topple the worldly structures, protected by corrupted foundations, deceptively and quietly waging war with truth. By dissecting and addressing fallacies amongst mainstream media, and the global elitist's agenda, we will find clarity and truth as we prepare to reestablish our Constitution. With this time of restoration before restriction, we will restore the foundations of Truth and Love, presently eroded by division and deception, rescuing as many souls that will salvation as possible. We will examine the redefining of meaning and the deception tactics deployed to reshape our conscious, unconscious and subconscious states of mind, gaining awareness through many complex truths. The multitudes of which will have meaning and hope for every living, breathing person. In totality, we will review the record of what has taken place before a Trump Administration, preparing ourselves and country before the mainstream media confusion-chaos-fest escalates. By correcting fallacies spread to divide us amongst each other - through a systematic review of truth, historical facts, past & present issues, and a deep analysis of our division - we will 'Set the Record Straight' on where we have been and the "total reset" we avoided with Common Grace. We must unify together to uproot the destructive worldly forces that seek power, control, and wealth at each of our expenses, supporting the man, the movement & the 45th President of the United States of America - God's anointed Cyrus (Isaiah 45) - Donald J. Trump. Will we heal our nation, fix our eyes, and straighten our paths to unite? As we usher in "The Great Awakening," the greatest test America will ever endure, "We the People," the 99% and overwhelming majority, have two years to right the ship or lose our way. Each of us will determine the future course of this country, and outcome, for better or worse.UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. THAT WILL BE OUR TEST TO COME...A Nation Divided: United we stand, Divided we fallAnthony R. FlaggCopyright 2017 Explorable Ventures (Exploratory Enterprises LLC)

A Nation Divided The Conflicting Personalities Visions And Values Of Liberals And Conservatives written by Anthony Walsh and has been published by Vernon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-02 with Political Science categories.

Activists have long claimed that “the personal is political”, but this book posits the converse: that the political is personal. The United States today is bitterly divided. It is less an aspirational melting pot of immigrants and more a salad bowl made up of distinct, often clashing flavors. The successive elections of two divisive presidents—one committed to the perennial leftist dream of “fundamental change” and the other to a conservative vision of “Making America Great Again”—have exacerbated what is arguably the greatest rift in politics since the election of Abraham Lincoln. Taking inspiration from Coleridge’s belief that all humans are temperamentally destined to follow the path of Plato the Idealist or Aristotle the Realist, this book examines the political divide in terms of these temperamental differences. Liberals’ and conservatives’ views of human nature have a large bearing on the political policies they espouse, but their temperaments and personalities have the most significant impact. This book analyses the personality traits of liberals and conservatives in terms of the “Big Five” model—openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Conservatives are found in almost all studies to be more conscientious, agreeable, and extroverted, while liberals are found to be more open to new experience and neurotic. The political divisions I explore in this book are all essentially fueled by personality differences. There is a deepening divide between liberals and conservatives in the battle for America’s soul: one side seeks to steer the nation sharply to the left into socialist selfdom, whereas the other side desires a wealthy and free America under the watchful eye of God’s providence. A preponderance of academic texts belongs to the liberal tradition. Conservatives have long lacked a comparable intellectual tradition of their own, although an incipient one is now beginning to form. This book, while maintaining a measure of scholarly distance, is unashamedly written from a conservative point of view.
