Esta obra foi organizada com o objetivo de divulgar a aproximação da cultura alimentar com a merenda escolar no currículo escolar, para tanto partimos da pluralidade de saberes em torno dos Geossítios Batateiras (Crato) e Colina do Horto (Juazeiro do Norte). Os estudos divulgados são frutos da pesquisa ?nanciada pela Fundação Cearense de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Cientí?co e Tecnológico (Funcap) e pelo Programa de Bolsas de Produtividade em Pesquisa, Estímulo à Interiorização e à Inovação Tecnológica (BPI) – Edital 02/2020, realizada pela equipe composta por professores, alunos e convidados do Núcleo de Pesquisa, Estudo e Extensão em Educação Física (Nupef). Os trabalhos partem da pesquisa qualitativa e apoiam-se em práticas alimentares de diferentes atores produzidos a partir da interação social nas escolas, nas comunidades, nos sítios, nos mercados públicos, entre outros, para dialogar com os desa?os da Educação Alimentar e Nutricional na transversalidade dos temas no currículo da educação básica. Assim, direcionamos o livro à comunidade escolar. Algumas questões impulsionaram a obra, a saber: 1) a cultura alimentar; 2) a Educação Alimentar Nutricional (EAN); e 3) o sentido de regionalização alimentar que, em tese, agrega o princípio de valorização do sistema alimentar no currículo. Em síntese: do desconhecimento da cultura alimentar, dúvidas de educadores e do entendimento de regionalização da alimentação escolar no currículo, indagamos: quais práticas, hábitos e saberes alimentares dos moradores dos Geossítios Colina do Horto (Juazeiro do Norte) e Batateiras (Crato) permitem dialogar com a EAN/Pnae nos Temas Contemporâneos Transversais /Base Nacional Comum Curricular?
