This book is a collection of poems short stories and things remembered from the author's years of growing up. The poems were started when, while watching tv, I started writing down stuff about angels. The next thing I knew I had three poems written about angels. Things just kept going from there. The book of Ruth has always been a favorite of mine. Before I got through writing the story about Ruth, I felt led to write the story on Ester. A dear friend who is a retired school teacher, read these poems and stories and encouraged me to continue and put all my writings into a book. Many of the stories are from family experiences, so, one could say they really are true stories. I hope something in this book will touch and change someones life.

The American author and creator of the folk character Uncle Remus, Joel Chandler Harris produced a wide body of works, reflecting his life and interests in the Deep South. As a young journalist, he established a reputation as a brilliant humorist and writer of dialect. His Uncle Remus stories secured for Harris a place in American literature. The format was an instant success — a wise and genial old black man, Uncle Remus narrates tales of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and other animals to the son of a plantation owner, while interweaving his philosophy of the world about him. Harris’ later novels reveal his ability as a writer of ‘local color’, exploring important issues facing the South after its Reconstruction. For the first time in publishing history, this eBook presents Harris’ complete works, with numerous illustrations, many rare texts, informative introductions and the usual Delphi bonus material. Rockin The Rockpile written by Jeffrey J. Miller and has been published by ECW Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Sports & Recreation categories.

Rockin' the Rockpile is a complete and comprehensive history of the Buffalo Bills AFL era -- from the first meetings of the "Foolish Club" to the eventual merger with the senior NFL -- and it brings to life the stories of a bygone time that fans regard as Buffalo's golden age of sport. Rockin' the Rockpile resonates with the words of the men who lived it. More than 60 former players, coaches, and administrative staff -- including Ralph Wilson -- shared their thoughts and memories for this book. As this book was intended as a collective memoir of the Buffalo Bills' AFL era, those interviews constitute the foundation upon which this book was written. It offers the average fan a glimpse into the locker room, film room, whirlpool, coach's office, press box, as well as the huddle, to see and hear just what the players and coaches were thinking or saying during a significant game or play. The Buffalo Bills of the 1960s represent a special time in the collective conscience of Buffalonians, a time when their team was twice champion of the renegade American Football League, and when Jack Kemp, Billy Shaw, Cookie Gilchrist, Mike Stratton, Tom Sestak, Elbert Dubenion, Ron McDole, and O.J. Simpson, captured the imagination of an entire community. They were the antithesis of the high-scoring, pass-happy AFL. When high-powered offenses were the main attraction, the Bills competed, and won, with a ball-control offense and a stingy defense. For three consecutive years, Buffalo's defensive unit was the best in the league, and was one of the best throughout the AFL's history. Western New Yorkers loved this team and its successful approach -- the Buffalo Bills mirrored the community they represented.

The final novel in Steph Post's acclaimed Judah Cannon trilogy Judah Cannon. Sister Tulah. It all comes down to this. Before the final showdown with Tulah Atwell, the Pentecostal preacher responsible for his father’s death and his own return to a life of crime, however, Judah still has a few more fires to walk through. The dust may have settled after the shootout that left a string of bodies—including that of ATF agent Clive Grant and drug runner Everett Weaver—in its wake, but that doesn’t mean a quiet life is on the horizon for Judah, his girlfriend Ramey, and his two brothers, Benji and Levi. A power struggle within the Cannon family soon erupts, placing Judah in debt to Sukey Lewis, a crime matriarch from across the creek, just as an irresistible scheme to steal a thoroughbred stud stallion falls into the Cannons’ lap. Trying to solve all their problems with a single heist, Judah agrees to trust Dinah, an enigmatic drifter, even as Ramey’s faith in him begins to waver. While Sister Tulah returns to her old tricks, running a swampland scheme and intimidating everyone in her path, and Brother Felton returns to Florida a changed man with a mystic mission, Judah finds the foundation of his family crumbling and only hard choices in sight. Will Judah and Ramey survive Sister Tulah—and the darkness within their own hearts—or are such dreams impossible in Bradford County, nothing more than holding smoke?
