Against the backdrop of plantation life, the author, a master of innovative historical fiction, lures the reader into a world of intrigue, adventure, and romance. Caught up in this grand scheme, thugs snatch Raja away from his pretty wife and herd him to join the hundreds of thousands before and after him onto a sailing ship in Calcutta headed to the distant colony of British Guiana. The year is 1869. When the British fail to return Raja to his homeland, he makes good as a free man in the new colony. In his old age, he returns to his native home. Will he relight the spark of a once beautiful romance? Does he find solace in the Old World or the New?

Caste And Nature written by Mukul Sharma and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-25 with Religion categories.

Rarely do Indian environmental discourses examine nature through the lens of caste. Whereas nature is considered as universal and inherent, caste is understood as a constructed historical and social entity. Mukul Sharma shows how caste and nature are intimately connected. He compares Dalit meanings of environment to ideas and practices of neo-Brahmanism and certain mainstreams of environmental thought. Showing how Dalit experiences of environment are ridden with metaphors of pollution, impurity, and dirt, the author is able to bring forth new dimensions on both environment and Dalits, without valourizing the latter’s standpoint. Rather than looking for a coherent understanding of their ecology, the book explores the diverse and rich intellectual resources of Dalits, such as movements, songs, myths, memories, and metaphors around nature. These reveal their quest to define themselves in caste-ridden nature and building a form of environmentalism free from the burdens of caste. The Dalits also pose a critical challenge to Indian environmentalism, which has, until now, marginalized such linkages between caste and nature.

It has been said that a psychiatrist's mind is like a doctor's handwriting. In my first English book, Parivarthana (the change), I have made a mention about "Shrink". I am of the opinion that a psychiatrist would remain shrunk unless he does not come out from the western ideas and goes nearer to the eastern mysticism. De knotting Kagga (knot) of late Dr. D V Gundappa (a well-known author in Kannada literature) would require patience and knowledge, so also we need patience and knowledge to understand our complex life. Intellectual living does not assist man. Simplicity holds the key to rein on life. The pulse of living is directly proportional to the proper representation of life attributes. After all, life attributes are the subtle connectors of different lives with infinite objects of universe. Though my topics are not fiction, they are meant to provoke our thoughts along religious lines, our bygone philosophy, my own thoughts, my spiritual inventions and practices, the present day society and its psycho-social issues, the cosmic phenomenon, the current political scenarios, the life engineering programs and the works on neuro-spiritual interfaces (mind–matter interface).
