Fuzzy Logic With Engineering Applications written by Timothy J. Ross and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-04-08 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Fuzzy logic refers to a large subject dealing with a set of methods to characterize and quantify uncertainty in engineering systems that arise from ambiguity, imprecision, fuzziness, and lack of knowledge. Fuzzy logic is a reasoning system based on a foundation of fuzzy set theory, itself an extension of classical set theory, where set membership can be partial as opposed to all or none, as in the binary features of classical logic. Fuzzy logic is a relatively new discipline in which major advances have been made over the last decade or so with regard to theory and applications. Following on from the successful first edition, this fully updated new edition is therefore very timely and much anticipated. Concentration on the topics of fuzzy logic combined with an abundance of worked examples, chapter problems and commercial case studies is designed to help motivate a mainstream engineering audience, and the book is further strengthened by the inclusion of an online solutions manual as well as dedicated software codes. Senior undergraduate and postgraduate students in most engineering disciplines, academics and practicing engineers, plus some working in economics, control theory, operational research etc, will all find this a valuable addition to their bookshelves.

First Course On Fuzzy Theory And Applications written by Kwang Hyung Lee and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-10-07 with Computers categories.
Fuzzy theory has become a subject that generates much interest among the courses for graduate students. However, it was not easy to find a suitable textbook to use in the introductory course and to recommend to the students who want to self-study. The main purpose of this book is just to meet that need. The author has given lectures on the fuzzy theory and its applications for ten years and continuously developed lecture notes on the subject. This book is a publication of the modification and summary of the lecture notes. The fundamental idea of the book is to provide basic and concrete concepts of the fuzzy theory and its applications, and thus the author focused on easy illustrations of the basic concepts. There are numerous examples and figures to help readers to understand and also added exercises at the end of each chapter. This book consists of two parts: a theory part and an application part. The first part (theory part) includes chapters from 1 to 8. Chapters 1 and 2 introduce basic concepts of fuzzy sets and operations, and Chapters 3 and 4 deal with the multi-dimensional fuzzy sets. Chapters 5 and 6 are extensions of the fuzzy theory to the number and function, and Chapters 7 and 8 are developments of fuzzy properties on the probability and logic theories.

Sustainability And Global Challenges written by John N. Mordeson and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-06-24 with Computers categories.
This book focuses on the relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the most important issues the world is facing is sustainability. All members of the United Nations adopted Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. Associated with the SDGs are many serious global problems. These problems include climate change, global poverty, global hunger, human trafficking, homelessness, biodiversity, extinction, and terrorism. The author’s purpose is to develop a textbook concerning the SDGs and how they relate to these problems. A recent issue has emerged. That is Artificial Intelligence. AI has tremendous potential to do both good and harm. The book is designed in such a way that it can be used as an undergraduate textbook on sustainability. Consequently, the mathematics involved is kept at a reasonable level. One of the author’s goals is to prepare the reader to further their study of global issues. In particular, to provide them the background needed to examine the three books in the Springer Series Studies in Systems, Decision and Control, volumes 299, 353, and 391. Exercises are provided in the text as well as an instructor's manual. Some topics examined in the book include country achievement of the SDGs, the relationship between human trafficking and the SDGs, climate change, and global problems mentioned above.

This textbook provides a readable account of the examples and fundamental results of groups from a theoretical and geometrical point of view. Topics on important examples of groups (like cyclic groups, permutation groups, group of arithmetical functions, matrix groups and linear groups), Lagrange’s theorem, normal subgroups, factor groups, derived subgroup, homomorphism, isomorphism and automorphism of groups have been discussed in depth. Covering all major topics, this book is targeted to undergraduate students of mathematics with no prerequisite knowledge of the discussed topics. Each section ends with a set of worked-out problems and supplementary exercises to challenge the knowledge and ability of the reader.

Applications Of Fuzzy Logic In Decision Making And Management Science written by Subrata Jana and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-05-19 with Computers categories.
The fuzzy logic theory is a branch of mathematics dealing with uncertainty in measurement of any quantity or any estimation. The concept of fuzzy logic uses membership functions. The range of values from various functions or operations determines their construction. A defined rules set can create an application process and membership controls. Fuzzy applications include control system engineering, image processing, power engineering, industrial automation, robotics, consumer electronics and AI. Artificial intelligence, machine learning and expert systems have various applications that address complicated issues. The fuzzy logic inference rules have solved many problems in manufacturing and other industries. Auto engines by Honda, lift control by Mitsubishi Electric, palmtop computers by Hitachi, dishwashers by Matsushita and anti-lock brakes by Nissan are examples of corporations using machine-learning techniques with fuzzy principles. Fuzzy approaches and rule sets interpret computer vision, machine learning and evolution. Fuzzy sets can govern decision rules. Several areas use fuzzy systems in different ways. Computer vision, image processing and meta heuristic evolutionary computing are typical face research applications. Fuzzy theories can optimise and fine-tune the classifier model. Fuzzy theory is used in management, stock market analysis, information retrieval, linguistics, and behavioural science with good results. Fuzzy applications are seen in data mining and stock market prediction. The fuzzy machine learning model in the ensemble pattern accurately classifies and predicts all kinds of tasks. Fuzzy theories help maintain high accuracy. For categorisation and prediction, the ensemble pattern uses fuzzy concepts. The constant growth of fuzzy domain leads to several categorisation and prediction methods. Fuzzy type 2 and intuitionistic fuzzy logic exhibit promise accuracy and versatility. Such fuzzy logic variations can readily overcome the drawbacks of the simple fuzzy model. The book has been developed keeping in view about readers of different categories starting from the students to the professionals and researchers as well. The development of the book and its content layout will be done so meticulously proving the enough insights of the subjects to the readers so that the readers can easily pursue their research concept from the book. Overall the book serve as the purpose of repository of good amount of information and their technical presentations.

Binary And Multiclass Classification written by Brian Kolo and has been published by Lulu.com this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-02 with Science categories.
Classifiers are 'black boxes' that examine an input and place the input into a category. Examples include medical diagnostics (presence/absence of a disease), quality control (is a part defective?), search engine results (does a page match the search criteria?), language identification (what is the language of a document?), and data quality metrics (does this data set have sufficient quality metrics?). Increasingly, software tools are developed that implement or automate the classification process. Competing classification algorithms are compared to determine which is better suited for a particular application. This book develops the tools needed to measure classifier performance, compare classifiers, and rank order the results. This text examines the properties of binary and multiclass classifiers from a general perspective. Topics include classifier performance metrics, error analysis, comparison of classifier performance, metric distributions, and receiver operator characteristics (ROC).
