A presente obra se dispõe analisar as circunstâncias que contribuíram para a evolução do direito do trabalho, será exposta a relevância dos direitos fundamentais em meio às relações de trabalho, atestando, assim, a eficácia das normas fundamentais ao garantirem o equilíbrio necessário para a manutenção dos vínculos empregatícios. Neste plano, diante do aumento do acesso à internet, bem como da quantidade de smartphones em todas as classes sociais, surge um novo tipo de terceirização, chamada de crowdsourcing ou multiterceirização, referindo-se às plataformas de intermediação que utilizam a terceirização em massa e envolvem um grupo indefinido de pessoas. A aparente autonomia dos trabalhadores de plataforma para organizarem suas rotinas é acompanhada por diversos mecanismos de controle e subordinação algorítmica, os quais garantem que o serviço ocorra de acordo com padrões de qualidade e desempenho estipulados pela plataforma através de incentivos ou até mesmo sanções. Portanto, será exposto o retrocesso social diante das políticas neoliberais e o emprego das novas tecnologias de intermediação de serviços, as quais promoveram um aumento da flexibilização do direito do trabalhador, justificada pelo aumento da empregabilidade e do livre mercado, promovendo um Estado menos intervencionista.

Após relatar uma breve história das origens do contrato de trabalho é discutida a necessidade de flexibilizar as relações de emprego, procurando delimitar a terminologia, a conceituação e os tipos de flexibilização. Discute-se as diferenças entre o crescimento e o desenvolvimento, especialmente no tocante ao problema do emprego. Enfrenta-se a questão da reafirmação do pluralismo jurídico como elemento importante na solução dos problemas enfrentados pela sociedade, especialmente no âmbito do Direito do Trabalho. Analisa-se, por fim algumas propostas legislativas e os limites de abrangência delas.

This book intends to be an alert to the fact that the curve measuring environmental costs against the economic benefits of capitalism has irreversibly entered into a negative phase. The prospect of an environmental collapse has been evidenced by the sciences and the humanities since the 1960s. Today, it imposes its urgency. This collapse differs from past civilizations in that it is neither local nor just civilizational. It is global and occurs at the broadest level of the biosphere, accelerated by the convergence of different socio-environmental crises, such as: Earth energy imbalance, climate change and global warming Sea-level rise Decrease and degradation of forests Collapse of terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity Floods, droughts, wildfires, and extreme weather events Degradation of soils and water resources Increase in pollution caused by fossil fuels and coal Increase in waste production and industrial intoxication The book is divided in two parts. In the first part it presents a comprehensive review of scientific data to show the already visible effects of each of the different environmental crises and its consequences to human life on Earth. In the second part, Luiz Marques critically discusses what he calls the three concentric illusions that prevent us from realizing the gravity of the current socio-environmental crises: the illusion of a sustainable capitalism, the illusion that economic growth is still capable of providing more well-being and the anthropocentric illusion. Finally, Marques argues that "fitting" back into the biosphere will only be possible if we dismantle the expansive socioeconomic gear that has shaped our societies since the 16th century by moving from a Social Contract to a Natural Contract, which takes into account the whole biosphere.
