Mount Taishan, China 1486 BCE Humans have marked the tales of destiny and fate on the walls of caves since time began. But surprisingly, the first evidenced comet, Lao-Tien-Yeh 老天葉 is not documented until 1486 BCE. By estimates today, the comet was four times brighter than the full moon. So it was not unusual that the scholars in China recorded it for posterity. An old monk climbs Mount Tai to witness the coming star. A reunion, deemed insignificant at first, introduces the monk to what eventually becomes the tenets behind Universal Truth. Principles of life that shape the foundation of Buddhism. He won’t have the chance to tell anyone, though, for an ancient force also stirs with the comet. Taishan was the last of her kind. Awakened by the nightless day, she guards an isolated valley claimed in battle from an earlier emperor. She still has the scars. The comet has all but erased any protection provided by the cover of night. The ten tails that trailed behind were another worry. They mirrored what appeared the night the old girl was born. An omen. A prophecy. A battle. A disaster. In that scenario, no one wins. Taishan was determined to die here. Her unborn would vanish with her unless the old monk can change their destiny. There are moments when we realize how fragile life is; how sacred the vows of compassion are. A soul becoming resplendent is hard-earned. A lifetime of serving others is the only way to get there. It takes a thousand years for the Buddhist doctrine is discovered again. Hanalei Bay, Hawaii Three Days Ago... Calvin's forgotten childhood promise sat locked in a drawer for fifty years, placed there by an ancient and bitter darkness. However, the obligation behind it had begun long before ever being bargained. It has woven through time and collected a would-be grandfather, a ragged old cat, and not the least of which, a renewed interest of the grey ladies, the Fates. You see, Clotho is the sister who spins the threads of life and destiny, and once upon a time, the sister tied these three souls together. Now, while caring for a recently rescued kitten, an accident occurs that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. Every imaginary friend that had ever visited Calvin in dreams has been tugged home again by the thread. Every Grumpmuffin, Gigglemonk, Cuddlemonk, Ticklemonk, and Adamsville Fairy expects to have their say. It has been a long time since a human has breached the veil and been able to hold a conversation. They intend to make the most of it. Harsh questions will be asked, secrets will be shared, and the truth will stand revealed. But, like the Chinese monk before him, Calvin will not have the chance to tell anyone. Once again, an ancient force stirs Although Twain, Tesla, Barrie, Warhol, The Apollo 12/Intrepid Landing Module, Perun-the Slavic God of Thunder, some Quantum Foam, and just a wee bit of lost faith, all make appearances, they may not be enough to change a destiny long ago set in motion. Comet Lao-Tien-Yeh 老天葉 is now designated 12P/Pons-Brooks. It is fast approaching. Evergreen, Colorado Now “Shhhh, it is soon to be December. Love blooms in the softer sunlight. Changing colors float along with the wisps of chimney smoke and beckon the gentler souls to wander out beneath the starlight. The Magic of Elysium begins in the cool, darkened evenings in the last days of Autumn.” ~ A Persistence of Dreams / Book Two of The Dreams Saga

Inti Mach'ay and the Royal Feast of the Sun. Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu District, above the Sacred Valley. December 21, 1572, At midday on November 11, the sun floats directly above the pillar casting no shadow at all. An empire currently under assault. The Compassionist's Agenda. Three days ago. A week ago, my life changed. A gathering of dreams came home. I was tired, exhausted, accidentally drugged from caring for a friend when the illusions crawled from darkness onto my deck. They woke something from childhood; memories and dreams belonging to someone else. Familiar, somehow, but not mine. Something in them haunted me for a week. But, as it does, life returned to normal, until this morning. Two of the little ones came back; popped into existence along the shoreline. The Imaginary Resolution Services® were tracking the dreams that visited. They had disappeared after revealing themselves, no traces anywhere. The only reason 'Homefry' and 'Pooh' came here was to question my friend, the one who started all this in the first place. It seems Leonardo Garfield is the only Grumpmuffin available now. The IRS was hoping to backtrack our visitors from his signature. It turns out that cats are walkers. Their purrs allow them a sympathetic resonance that vibrates the veils open between realities. The Twelyth Teg use their wings to the same end. The rest of us have to use the ley lines; bismuth veins that crisscross the planet. Be that as it may, I am going along, too. What I thought was a one-off experience goes much deeper. Children encounter magic because they look for it. I did not find my childhood again, only to lose it now. If you know anything about me, it should be that I keep a promise. I do not make many, but the ones that I do, get delivered. Homefry and Pooh, along with me and thee are going to find our friends and bring them home. We just need to believe. But first, we need to find a few things lost in time ... miracles. We are going to need them.

Langland S Fictions written by John Anthony Burrow and has been published by Clarendon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993 with Literary Criticism categories.

Langland's Piers Plowman is a profoundly Christian poem which nevertheless has enjoyed a wide general appeal. Readers--both religious and non-religious--have been drawn by the power of Langland's fictive imagination, the rich variety of imaginary worlds in his great dream-poem. Langland's Fictions examines the construction of the ten dreams which make up the B Text of Piers Plowman, and explores the relation of these dream-fictions to those realities with which the poet was chiefly preoccupied. This relationship is discussed under three main headings: "fictions of the divided mind," in which the poet's mixed feelings about matters such as the value of learning find expression in imagined scenes and actions; "fictions of history" in which the main events of salvation history are relived in the parallel worlds of dream; and "fictions of the self," in which Langland's doubtful sense of his own moral standing as a man and a poet apparently finds expression. This chapter also addresses the controversial question of "autobiographical elements" in the poem. John Burrow's lively study is a major contribution to our understanding of one of medieval literature's most enduring works.

At present, prisons are seen as a logical response to crimes of poverty and crimes of violence. And yet, the desolation, degradation, and violence of prisons may be causing our communities far more harm than good. This book offers a glimpse inside the world of prisons as well as documenting inspiring work in a range of communities in Australia, New Zealand, and North America that is offering to take us beyond the prison. Most particularly, this book is written to offer company and practical ideas to those working with adults and young people whose lives are lived in the shadow of prisons.

People Of The Dream written by Michael O. Emerson and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-12-16 with Social Science categories.

It is sometimes said that the most segregated time of the week in the United States is Sunday morning. Even as workplaces and public institutions such as the military have become racially integrated, racial separation in Christian religious congregations is the norm. And yet some congregations remain stubbornly, racially mixed. People of the Dream is the most complete study of this phenomenon ever undertaken. Author Michael Emerson explores such questions as: how do racially mixed congregations come together? How are they sustained? Who attends them, how did they get there, and what are their experiences? Engagingly written, the book enters the worlds of these congregations through national surveys and in-depth studies of those attending racially mixed churches. Data for the book was collected over seven years by the author and his research team. It includes more than 2,500 telephone interviews, hundreds of written surveys, and extensive visits to mixed-race congregations throughout the United States. People of the Dream argues that multiracial congregations are bridge organizations that gather and facilitate cross-racial friendships, disproportionately housing people who have substantially more racially diverse social networks than do other Americans. The book concludes that multiracial congregations and the people in them may be harbingers of racial change to come in the United States.
