This is an intimate first-person account of the life & beliefs of Dom Bede Griffiths, one of the great mystical thinkers of the 20th century & a pioneer in East-West understanding. Born into the English middle class in 1905, educated at Oxford, Bede spent several years as a literature scholar. He developed a close relationship with C.S. Lewis, one of his professors, with whom he shared a spiritual search. After leaving university life, Bede was drawn to the Catholic Church & eventually became a Benedictine monk. After 20 years he left England for India & founded a community that celebrated the common values of Hindu & Christian ways of life. Seekers from around the world traveled to the lush jungles of southern India to experience the unique community Griffiths founded. Although he never left his Catholic faith, Bede developed a spiritual & scientific understanding that transcended all dogma. These pages contain the simple voice of a profound thinker, teacher, & guru, who - despite some opposition from those who would label him a "heretic" - continues to reach out to people all over the world. A Human Search chronicles a lifelong quest for truth. Here are honest, impassioned reflections on God, nature, ritual, the divine feminine, the evolution of Scripture, & the deeper meaning of life.

Search Algorithms And Applications written by Nashat Mansour and has been published by BoD – Books on Demand this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-04-26 with Computers categories.

Search algorithms aim to find solutions or objects with specified properties and constraints in a large solution search space or among a collection of objects. A solution can be a set of value assignments to variables that will satisfy the constraints or a sub-structure of a given discrete structure. In addition, there are search algorithms, mostly probabilistic, that are designed for the prospective quantum computer. This book demonstrates the wide applicability of search algorithms for the purpose of developing useful and practical solutions to problems that arise in a variety of problem domains. Although it is targeted to a wide group of readers: researchers, graduate students, and practitioners, it does not offer an exhaustive coverage of search algorithms and applications. The chapters are organized into three parts: Population-based and quantum search algorithms, Search algorithms for image and video processing, and Search algorithms for engineering applications.

International Encyclopedia Of Ergonomics And Human Factors Second Edition 3 Volume Set written by Informa Healthcare and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-03-15 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The previous edition of the International Encyclopedia of Ergonomics and Human Factors made history as the first unified source of reliable information drawn from many realms of science and technology and created specifically with ergonomics professionals in mind. It was also a winner of the Best Reference Award 2002 from the Engineering Libraries Division, American Society of Engineering Education, USA, and the Outstanding Academic Title 2002 from Choice Magazine. Not content to rest on his laurels, human factors and ergonomics expert Professor Waldemar Karwowski has overhauled his standard-setting resource, incorporating coverage of tried and true methods, fundamental principles, and major paradigm shifts in philosophy, thought, and design. Demonstrating the truly interdisciplinary nature of this field, these changes make the second edition even more comprehensive, more informative, more, in a word, encyclopedic. Keeping the format popularized by the first edition, the new edition has been completely revised and updated. Divided into 13 sections and organized alphabetically within each section, the entries provide a clear and simple outline of the topics as well as precise and practical information. The book reviews applications, tools, and innovative concepts related to ergonomic research. Technical terms are defined (where possible) within entries as well as in a glossary. Students and professionals will find this format invaluable, whether they have ergonomics, engineering, computing, or psychology backgrounds. Experts and researchers will also find it an excellent source of information on areas beyond the range of their direct interests.

Experimental Design Research written by Philip Cash and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-17 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book presents a new, multidisciplinary perspective on and paradigm for integrative experimental design research. It addresses various perspectives on methods, analysis and overall research approach, and how they can be synthesized to advance understanding of design. It explores the foundations of experimental approaches and their utility in this domain, and brings together analytical approaches to promote an integrated understanding. The book also investigates where these approaches lead to and how they link design research more fully with other disciplines (e.g. psychology, cognition, sociology, computer science, management). Above all, the book emphasizes the integrative nature of design research in terms of the methods, theories, and units of study—from the individual to the organizational level. Although this approach offers many advantages, it has inherently led to a situation in current research practice where methods are diverging and integration between individual, team and organizational understanding is becoming increasingly tenuous, calling for a multidisciplinary and transdiscipinary perspective. Experimental design research thus offers a powerful tool and platform for resolving these challenges. Providing an invaluable resource for the design research community, this book paves the way for the next generation of researchers in the field by bridging methods and methodology. As such, it will especially benefit postgraduate students and researchers in design research, as well as engineering designers.
