“Mass-Action Law Dynamics Theory and Algorithm for Translational and Precision Medicine Informatics provides a comprehensive overview and update of the mass-action law-based unified dose-effect biodynamics, pharmacodynamics, bioinformatics, and the combination index theorem for synergy definition (MAL-BD/PD/BI/CI). Contents advocate the fundamental MAL-PD/BI/CI/BI principle for biomedical R&D, clinical trials protocol design computerized data analysis, illustrates the MAL-dynamics theory with sample analysis, and includes data entry and automated computer report print-outs. In 11 sections “Mass-Action Law Dynamics Theory and Algorithm for Translational and Precision Medicine Informatics leads the reader from an introduction and overview, to trial protocols and MAL-PD/CI approach for biomedical R&D in vitro and in animals. It describes the current Landscape of International FDA Drug Evaluation, Clinical Pharmacology, and Clinical Trials Guidance. This is a valuable resource for biomedical researchers, healthcare professionals, and students seeking to harness the power of data informatics in precision medicine. • gives insight into that index equation (DRIE) that digitally determines how many folds of dose-reduction is needed for each drug in synergistic combinations • provides a comprehensive overview and update of mass-action law-based unified bioinformatics, dose effect biodynamics, pharmacodynamics, and the combination index theorem for synergy definition (MAL-BD/PD/BI/CI) • describes how the MAL theory/algorithm-based “Top-Down digital approach is the opposite and yet is a complementary alternative to the observation/statistics-based “Bottom-Up traditional approach in R&D

Sequence Analysis Primer written by Michael Ray Gribskov and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Amino acid sequence categories.

Computerized sequence analysis is an integral part of biotechnological research, yet many biologists have received no formal training in this important technology. Sequence Analysis Primer offers the beginner the necessary background to enter this vital field and helps more seasoned researchers to fine-tune their approach. It covers basic data manipulation such as homology searches, stem-loop identification, and protein secondary structure prediction, and is compatible with most sequence analysis programs. A detailed example giving steps for characterizing a new gene sequence provides users with hands-on experience when combined with their current software. The book will be invaluable to researchers and students in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, and biotechnology.

Sequence Evolution Function written by Eugene V. Koonin and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-29 with Science categories.

Sequence - Evolution - Function is an introduction to the computational approaches that play a critical role in the emerging new branch of biology known as functional genomics. The book provides the reader with an understanding of the principles and approaches of functional genomics and of the potential and limitations of computational and experimental approaches to genome analysis. Sequence - Evolution - Function should help bridge the "digital divide" between biologists and computer scientists, allowing biologists to better grasp the peculiarities of the emerging field of Genome Biology and to learn how to benefit from the enormous amount of sequence data available in the public databases. The book is non-technical with respect to the computer methods for genome analysis and discusses these methods from the user's viewpoint, without addressing mathematical and algorithmic details. Prior practical familiarity with the basic methods for sequence analysis is a major advantage, but a reader without such experience will be able to use the book as an introduction to these methods. This book is perfect for introductory level courses in computational methods for comparative and functional genomics.

With the most comprehensive and up-to-date overview of structure-based drug discovery covering both experimental and computational approaches, Structural Biology in Drug Discovery: Methods, Techniques, and Practices describes principles, methods, applications, and emerging paradigms of structural biology as a tool for more efficient drug development. Coverage includes successful examples, academic and industry insights, novel concepts, and advances in a rapidly evolving field. The combined chapters, by authors writing from the frontlines of structural biology and drug discovery, give readers a valuable reference and resource that: Presents the benefits, limitations, and potentiality of major techniques in the field such as X-ray crystallography, NMR, neutron crystallography, cryo-EM, mass spectrometry and other biophysical techniques, and computational structural biology Includes detailed chapters on druggability, allostery, complementary use of thermodynamic and kinetic information, and powerful approaches such as structural chemogenomics and fragment-based drug design Emphasizes the need for the in-depth biophysical characterization of protein targets as well as of therapeutic proteins, and for a thorough quality assessment of experimental structures Illustrates advances in the field of established therapeutic targets like kinases, serine proteinases, GPCRs, and epigenetic proteins, and of more challenging ones like protein-protein interactions and intrinsically disordered proteins

Knowledge Processing Creativity And Politics written by Showan Khurshid and has been published by Showan Khurshid this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-04 with Political Science categories.

How is it possible to have political order and peace at all? This is the key question we should consider. This book, on the bases of biology, psychology and human experience, argues that our salient characteristic is creativity the capacity to acquire, transmit and apply knowledge. Creativity is a precondition for morality, the best morality, therefore, is what facilitates creativity best. Agreement on morality is what resolves conflicts of interest and leads to the formation of political power and, thus, order. But how is agreement possible? Liberal democracy and ideologies, including religions, evolved to deal with moral disagreement. However, they evolve, develop and operate differently, consequently they shape the world and political history differently. Read on to see how.

Next Steps For Functional Genomics written by National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and has been published by National Academies Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-18 with Science categories.

One of the holy grails in biology is the ability to predict functional characteristics from an organism's genetic sequence. Despite decades of research since the first sequencing of an organism in 1995, scientists still do not understand exactly how the information in genes is converted into an organism's phenotype, its physical characteristics. Functional genomics attempts to make use of the vast wealth of data from "-omics" screens and projects to describe gene and protein functions and interactions. A February 2020 workshop was held to determine research needs to advance the field of functional genomics over the next 10-20 years. Speakers and participants discussed goals, strategies, and technical needs to allow functional genomics to contribute to the advancement of basic knowledge and its applications that would benefit society. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussions from the workshop.

the refolding process is often the critical bottleneck in the production of high-value proteins, and recently acquired insights have yet to be translated into technological advantages. These proceedings bridge the gap between fundamental and applied studies, addressing such issues as in vivo protein folding, protein aggregation and inclusion body formation, elucidation of the folding pathway, characterization of folding intermediates, and practical considerations in protein renaturation.
