This new volume of poems by Martin Foroz reflects on the gallery of classic American and English poets whose voices have inspired him to develop a new voice of his own. Poe, Thomas, Pound, Eliot, Shelley, Yeats, Whitman, Ginsberg, Gray, Emerson...they have expanded his perceptions and concepts now that he is in his 50s. He has been producing poetry in both Persian (his native language) and English for the past twenty years. His English poetry has been published in different literary journals. Author of Inside Out, Out Inside, and An Illustrative Dictionary of Semantics, Foroz is renowned for his fervor in dealing with subjects like war crimes, terrorism, love of nature, and faith. Foroz has lived the narratives and the verse dramas arranged here in two parts. But for him, it does not matter whether he is depicting true life stories or has plotted the characters and events. It's more important, he argues, that the reader recreates the multiple meanings in every piece of the Louvre. He invites the reader to participate in meaning making rather than looking for a clear or cliché message. Martin Foroz (Mohammad Forouzani) is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature at the University of Nizwa. Born in Iran in 1964, lives in Oman.

Conversing In Verse written by Elizabeth Helsinger and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-08-04 with Literary Criticism categories.

Conversing in Verse considers poems of conversation from the late eighteenth into the twentieth centuries – the very period when a more restrictive conception of poetry as the lyric product of the poet's solitary self-communing became entrenched. With fresh insight, Elizabeth Helsinger addresses a range of questions at the core of conversational poetry: When and why do poets turn to conversation to explore poetry's potential? How do conversation's forms and intentions shape the figures, rhythms, and prosody of poems to alter the reader's experience? What are the ethical and political stakes of conversing in verse? Coleridge, Clare, Landor, Tennyson, Robert Browning, Christina and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Swinburne, Michael Field, and Hardy each composed poems that open difficult or impossible conversations with phenomena outside themselves. Helsinger unearths an unfamiliar lyric history that produced some of the most interesting formal experiments of the nineteenth century, including its best known, the dramatic monologue.

The significance of “meaning” goes beyond the word-level. Few disciplines, if at all, would do away with the knowledge and principles of semantics in their spoken and written discourse. ILLUDS is an illustrative dictionary of semantics aiming to provide language researchers with the key terms, terminologies, and phrases with even slight or indirect relation to semantics that appear in linguistics coursebooks and reference books. About 150 references have been used to compile this dictionary, one feature among several others that makes this book the first of its kind in content, approach, and scope.

100 Bible Verses That Made America written by Robert J. Morgan and has been published by Thomas Nelson this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-02-04 with Religion categories.

Bestselling author Robert Morgan explores 100 Bible verses that powerfully impacted our leaders during defining moments in American history and reflects upon what these verses mean for us as a nation today. 100 Bible Verses That Made America is a tour through the biblical roots of American history—a powerful exploration of our country’s founders, leaders, and the critical moments that laid the foundation for the formation of the USA. Had there been no Bible, there would be no America as we know it. It is the Bible that made America. When George Washington was sworn into office as our first president, he did not place his hand on the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States, as important as those documents are. Instead, he swore upon and even kissed the Bible to sanctify this important moment. The Bible, Washington knew, had ushered American history to this point. While not every Founding Father was a Christian, each was knowledgeable about the Bible. And while none of them was perfect, many embraced a deep faith in the unfailing Word of God. 100 Bible Verses That Made America contains: Short, devotional-style chapters, each featuring a Bible verse and how it influenced a historical figure Engaging stories spanning from the Mayflower to modern day Vivid segments that emphasize the Bible as the cornerstone of American history Journey with Robert J. Morgan as he shares the Bible’s role in the defining moments of American history and its impact on the people of our nation, reminding us of the beauty of faith and country and reigniting our passion for both.
