Fault diagnosis is an extensively applied issue to monitor condition and diagnose fault for safe and stable operation of the machine, which started to develop during the industrial revolution and contains various theories and technologies. Due to the growing complexity of contributing factors of a fault and the correlation of fault attributes which are often interrelated, traditional fault diagnosis methods fail to handle with this complex condition. To solve this problem, a new fault diagnosis method based on attributes weighted neutrosophic set is proposed in this paper. In the proposed approach, a attributes weighted model is developed to obtain the weights of attributes by the fault information. For a sample whose fault type is unknown, the neutrosophic set generated from the fault sample data are aggregated via the single valued neutrosophic power weighted averaging (SVNPWA) operator with the obtained attributes weights, then, the fault diagnosis results could be determined by the defuzzication method of fused neutrosophic set. This proposed method have capacity to differentiate the individual impact of attributes and handle the uncertain problems in the process of fault diagnosis. Finally, an illustrative example was provided to demonstrate the reasonableness and effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, a neutrosophic set based fault diagnosis method based on multi-stage fault template data is proposed to solve this problem. For an unknown fault sample whose fault type is unknown and needs to be diagnosed, the neutrosophic set based on multi-stage fault template data is generated, and then the generated neutrosophic set is fused via the simplified neutrosophic weighted averaging (SNWA) operator.

Fault detection, with the characteristics of strong uncertainty and randomness, has always been one of the research hotspots in the field of aerospace. Considering that devices will inevitably encounter various unknown interference in the process of use, which greatly limits the performance of many traditional fault detection methods. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to address this problem from the perspective of uncertainty and randomness of measurement signal. In information engineering, interval-valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs), belief rule base (BRB), and Dempster-Shafer (D-S) evidence reasoning are always characterized by the strong ability in revealing uncertainty, but each has its drawbacks. As a result, the three theories are firstly combined in this paper to form a powerful fault detection algorithm. Besides, a series of innovations are proposed to improve the method, including a new score function based on p-norm for IVNSs and a new approach of calculating the similarity between IVNSs, which are both proved by authoritative prerequisites. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, flush air data sensing (FADS), a technologically advanced airborne sensor, is adopted in this paper. The aerodynamic model of FADS is analyzed in detail using knowledge of aerodynamics under subsonic and supersonic conditions, meanwhile, the high-precision model is established based on the aerodynamic database obtained from CFD software.

Neutrosophic cubic sets (NCSs) can express complex multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) problems with its interval and single-valued neutrosophic numbers simultaneously. The weighted arithmetic average (WAA) and geometric average (WGA) operators are common aggregation operators for handling MADM problems. However, the neutrosophic cubic weighted arithmetic average (NCWAA) and neutrosophic cubic geometric weighted average (NCWGA) operators may result in some unreasonable aggregated values in some cases. In order to overcome the drawbacks of the NCWAA and NCWGA, this paper developed a new neutrosophic cubic hybrid weighted arithmetic and geometric aggregation (NCHWAGA) operator and investigates its suitability and effectiveness. Then, we established a MADM method based on the NCHWAGA operator. Finally, a MADM problem with neutrosophic cubic information was provided to illustrate the application and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Since linguistic neutrosophic numbers (LNNs) are depicted independently by the truth, indeterminacy, and falsity linguistic variables in indeterminate and inconsistent linguistic environment, they are very fit for human thinking and expressing habits to judgments of complex objects in real life world. Then the correlation coefficient is a critical mathematical tool in pattern recognition and decision making science, but the related research was rarely involved in LNN setting. Hence, this work first proposes two new correlation coefficients of LNNs based on the correlation and information energy of LNNs as the complement/extension of our previous work, and then develops a multiple criteria group decision making (MCGDM) method based on the proposed correlation coefficients in LNN setting. Lastly, a decision making example is provided to illustrate the applicability of the developed method. By comparison with the MCGDM methods regarding the existing correlation coefficients based on the maximum and minimum operations of LNNs, the decision results indicate the effectiveness of the developed MCGDM approach. Hence, the proposed approach provides another new way for linguistic neutrosophic decision making problems.
