Employing the concept and function of tangency with similarity measures and counterpart distances for reliable medical consultations has been extensively studied in the past decades and results in lots of isomorphic measures for application. We compared the majority of such isomorphic measures proposed by various researchers and classified them into (a) maximum norm and (b) one-norm categories. Moreover, we found that previous researchers used monotonic functions to transform an identity function and resulted in complicated expressions. In this study, we provide a theoretical foundation to explain the isomorphic nature of a newer measure proposed by the following research paper against its studied existing one in deriving the same pattern recognition results. Specifically, this study initially proposes two similarity measures using maximum norm, arithmetic mean, and aggregation operators and followed by a detailed discussion on their mathematical characteristics. Subsequently, a simplified version of such measures is presented for easy application. This study completely covers two previous methods to point out that the complex approaches used were unnecessary. The findings will help physicians, patients, and their family members to obtain a proper medical diagnosis during multiple examinations.

Multi-attribute decision-making problems under the trapezoidal fuzzy neutrosophic numbers environment are complex, particularly when the attribute value data are incomplete, and the attribute weight is completely unknown. As a solution, this study proposes a decision-making method based on information entropy and grey theory.

With the development of the social economy and enlarged volume of information, the application of multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) has become increasingly complex, uncertain, and obscure. As a further generalization of hesitant fuzzy set (HFS), simplified neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (SNHFS) is an efficient tool to process the vague information and contains the ideas of a single-valued neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (SVNHFS) and an interval neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (INHFS). In this paper, we propose a decision-making approach based on the maximizing deviation method and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) to solve the MADM problems, in which the attribute weight information is incomplete, and the decision information is expressed in simplified neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy elements. Firstly, we inaugurate an optimization model on the basis of maximizing deviation method, which is useful to determine the attribute weights. Secondly, using the idea of the TOPSIS, we determine the relative closeness coefficient of each alternative and based on which we rank the considered alternatives to select the optimal one(s). Finally, we use a numerical example to show the detailed implementation procedure and effectiveness of our method in solvingMADMproblems under simplified neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy environment.

The TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multicriteria decision-making) method can consider the decisionmakers’ (DMs’) psychological behavior. However, the classical TODIM method has been unable to address fuzzy information such as the linguistic neutrosophic number (LNN), which is an effective tool to represent uncertainty. In this paper, an extended TODIM method is proposed to solve multicriteria group decision-making (MCGDM) problems in a linguistic neutrosophic environment. First, the definitions and characteristics of the classical TODIM and the LNNs are introduced. Then, an improved score function (SF) of LNNs is proposed. Furthermore, we obtain the combined weights of the criteria and aggregate individual decision matrices into a group decision matrix. The classical TODIM method is extended to address MCGDM problems with LNNs, and specific decision steps are provided. Finally, several examples are given to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed approach by comparison with some existing methods.
