Poesía recogida de aquí y allá, de todos los caminos que ha recorrido. Son imágenes vivas, cotidianas, respiran, transmutan, engendran poesía. Hilario Treviño es un caballero de la vieja usanza, inclinado a la sonoridad de las rimas con las que hace la faena de la vida diaria y con las que enamora una y otra vez a la musa. Dada la musicalidad de sus versos, no es de sorprender que el poeta se desdoble en músico. Hilario Treviño es compositor y arreglista de una decena de discos en los cuales, voces privilegiadas como Daniel Monserrat y el grupo Janitzio han cantado sus letras. En este volumen el lector encontrará que la poesía es también canto y viceversa. El libro abre con el poema Yo pecado, un acto de contrición y agradecimiento con el que el poeta se reconoce vulnerable y humano, cualidades imperativas para la gestación de la poesía. El segundo bloque de poemas y del cual el libro obtiene su nombre, Añoranzas de mi tierra, son los versos a la patria del exiliado, la tierra donde dejó el ombligo. Aquí el poeta se duele y se reconforta en el pasado, en las memorias de padres y abuelos, en los caminos que anduvo de niño, en las primeras palabras que anidó su corazón y le canta a Chipinque, a Monterrey, a México, a sus héroes y leyendas, a la tradición de la charrería, a los gallos y caballos tordillos y alazanes. Después de los versos a la tierra, Hilario nos entrega, lazos entrañables, los poemas a la sangre. A los padres, a los hijos y nietos. Se reconoce en los ojos de los suyos y no escatima en la importancia que la familia tiene en su vida. En este ejercicio de reconocimiento de lazos incluye a sus amigos y colegas.La cuarta sección del poemario está dedicada al amor y al romanticismo, y se ha titulado, Cantos al amor y a la mujer. Al poeta no le interesa minimizar el culto al amor, por el contrario lo eleva al estado de religión, y se desborda en cantos a la mujer y cada parte de su anatomía. Hilario Treviño sucumbe como marinero al canto de sirenas ante la belleza de la mujer, la suya propia y el género como tal. No en balde la mayoría de estos poemas han sido grabados como canciones a través de los años y forman parte del catálogo discográfico del autor. La última parte del libro, el autor lo ofrenda al humorismo folklórico, tan característico de la tradición oral mexicana. This collection of essays offers alternative readings of historical and literary texts produced during Latin America's colonial period. By considering the political and ideological implications of the texts' interpretation yesterday and today, it attempts to "decolonize" the field of Latin American studies and promote an ethical, interdisciplinary practice that does not falsify or appropriate knowledge produced by both the colonial subjects of the past and the oppressed subjects of the present. Using recent developments in postcolonial theory, the contributors challenge traditional approaches to Hispanism. The colonial situation under which these texts were composed, with all its injustices and prejudices, still lingers, and most studies have consistently avoided the connection between this colonial legacy and the situation of disenfranchised groups today. Colonialism Past and Present challenges discursive strategies that celebrate only European cultural traits, dismiss non-European cultural legacies, and solidify constructions of national projects considered natural extensions of European civilization since independence from Spain.
