Geostatistical mapping can be defined as analytical production of maps by using field observations, auxiliary information and a computer program that calculates values at locations of interest. Today, increasingly the heart of a mapping project is, in fact, the computer program that implements some (geo)statistical algorithm to a given point data set. Purpose of this guide is to assist you in producing quality maps by using fully-operational tools, without a need for serious additional investments. It will first introduce you the to the basic principles of geostatistical mapping and regression-kriging, as the key prediction technique, then it will guide you through four software packages: ILWIS GIS, R+gstat, SAGA GIS and Google Earth, which will be used to prepare the data, run analysis and make final layouts. These materials have been used for the five-days advanced training course "Hands-on-geostatistics: merging GIS and spatial statistics", that is regularly organized by the author and collaborators. Visit the course website to obtain a copy of the datasets used in this exercise. [Résumé de l'auteur].

During the last year's great efforts have been made to study the climate change, which the temperature changes are the main cause to it. Therefore, efforts have increased to solve these problems; methods for investigating the means variances, anomalies, trends changes, and likely threats. This book is produced to discuss the approach of GIS in the analysis of climate change data. At a time when talking about GIS technique, we mean "toward the best world" by solving the problems and protecting our planet. The book shows the approach and methodology of GIS in mapping and assessing climate change trends. Geographical Information Science and System (GIS) can be a powerful tool for analyzing the climate change problem and determining of the Affecting Factors. The book comprises many of topics such as climate change concepts, History, and Future, GIS concepts, approach and methodology in Exploration of Temperature Data, Geostatistical analysis, interpolation methods, spatial and temporal analysis of temperature trends.

Geocomputation with R is for people who want to analyze, visualize, and model geographic data with open source software. The book provides a foundation for learning how to solve a wide range of geographic data analysis problems in a reproducible, and therefore scientifically sound and scalable way. The second edition features numerous updates, including the adoption of the high-performance terra package for all raster data processing, detailed coverage of the spherical geometry engine s2, updated information on coordinate reference systems and new content on openEO, STAC, COG, and gdalcubes. The data visualization chapter has been revamped around version 4 of the tmap package, providing a fresh perspective on creating publication-quality maps from the command line. The importance of the book is also highlighted in a new foreword by Edzer Pebesma. The book equips you with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle a wide range of issues manifested in geographic data, including those with scientific, societal, and environmental implications. The book is especially well-suited to: Data scientists and engineers interested in upskilling to handle spatial data. People with existing geographic data skills interested in developing powerful geosolutions via code. Anyone who needs to work with spatial data in a reproducible and scalable way. The book is divided into three parts: Foundations, Extensions, and Applications, covering progressively more advanced topics. The exercises at the end of each chapter provide the necessary skills to address various geospatial problems, with solutions and supplementary materials available at r.geocompx.org/solutions/.
